THE OPEN SECRET

"ahhh, it hurts. Please somebody anybody help me" she screamed as she tried to get out of her car to the hospital emergency room. she could see a man standing in the distance watching her but she couldn't make out his face or why he was just standing there looking at her. she reached her hand out as she fall to her knees. "please sir, I beg you. help me" these were the last words Mwansa said before she closed her eyes and let the pain wash over her. As the man watched the doctors and nurses wheel Mwansa into the hospital. he followed behind but kept a distance so he could Not be noticed but he was close enough to make sure he knew everything happening to her. Mwansa was wheeled into the theatre, to get her ready for her operation the men became tense. He knew if this operation happened it would change everything. how will he stop it? how will he wake Mwansa up? this was not part of his mission. If he failed to deliver his order the king would for sure have his head. "f**k", he shook his head to clear it so he could think better. he felt a hand on his shoulder and when he looked up his face went pale. " Chola, what are you doing here?" he asked. "come quickly", Chola answered him. " we must find a place to talk". the man followed Chola until they managed to find an empty room. Chola bows his head in recognition of the man started in front of him. they both burst out into laugher as the man and Chola have been childhood friends before they took up their positions in the kingdom. "owh mahn, you always know how to shake off the tension," the man said before he wore a serious face. "why are you here, Chola?, you and I both know it is not safe for you in this world". "I had no choice. I needed to help you stop this before that operation took place, Michael". Michael signs and asks what could be done, when she was already in there. "owh my friend, have you not learned anything from the power you possess?". Michael and Chola are from another Earth called Earth Z it was filled with magic and all sorts of beings. unlike Earth Z, the Earth they were currently on had no idea such earth exited. this earth was where they sent the humans born with zero abilities. while those born with superpowers, wolves, and the like stayed. As a child Michael always felt a tag to Earth, he would always ask his father who was the head warrior why he felt this way. and his father gave the same response " maybe in another life you lived there, son" was always his father's response. every time he walked near the border of the two piles of earth he felt the pull so strong but when he looked on the other side he saw no one. people from Earth Z we're allowed to go back on forth between the two worlds as both worlds were run by super beings. but they had a few rules to follow while on that Earth. the most 2 important ones were never to mate with a human and 2 to display their powers in public. each being on Earth Z was only born with 1 power at most two. but when they got to the age of 18 they would have to choose one and give up the other. but Michael was different his family and the royal family were connected. the royal family could absorb a new power just from touching someone who had that power. but just like everyone else they had a limit to how many they could take in. most royals always picked the same ones. the power to sharp shift into anyone, the power of a witch, the power of a werewolf, the power of teleportation. they could take up to 10 at a time but most if not all only valued these 4 as there was never a need for some of the powers in the kingdom. Michael on the other hand could only pick 5. Just like Michael's family, Chola's family was also connected to the royal family. but a connection alone was not enough for one to be in the presence of the royal family. or even be part of its administration. unlike Michael, Chola only had one superpower. he was born from the family of Oracle. his one superpower gave him the ability of all superpowers but it came at a cost of aging fast. aside from seeing the future, going back in the post, he could also display any other power. but most oracles stuck to the ability to see. as using their other powers would mean a short life for them. once a child on Earth Z turned 7 years old whether male or female. they were required to take a test. this test was a right of passage, it helped release their powers. most children from the royals and those close to them took years to manifest or show any signs of power. while the regular peoples power would show at birth. like Mwansa all children who had no power detected in them at birth where taken to Earth and giving to families among the community to raise them as their own. Michael and Chola had both done well, in there exams and where taken to the royal school to teach them how to use there power to it's full potential. and this is how the two boys meant and became friends. even though Chola's kind was considered to be the most power beings. but there limitations put them in a position where they could not live long if they took up their full power. one days as Michael and Chola where training in the woods. Chola fall to the ground and started shaking. Michael rushed do his side to try and help his friend up. only for him be dragged into the vision with Chola. *fingers snapping * "Michael, hey, this is not time to start day dreaming. we need to come up with a solution", Chola said. " Chola, you of all people know if we interfere and the king or council here find out we are done for". Michael replied. "Then let's pray they don't find out" Chola signed as he spoke.
