Chapter Eleven: Elite

I took off all of my clothing and got into the bathroom, the paper was tightly wedged in my hand and immediately I got in, I took out the sheet of paper and straightened it, something was odd about the letter, it was supposed to be from my half brother to me but this was from a man to a woman, from my dad to probably his mom if I am to be exact. The letter was short but it contained a lot of messages, like how the league of light used my dad’s powers in transferring powers from a meta human to another, they were killing off agents of the league of light but not before taking their powers and giving it to someone else, the letter did fail to explain how and who the procedures were used on but I had my ideas. If my dad was shrouded by a force field and if he could control the force field, he could use the force field on other people too, it should be a simple procedure, he just had to encase the fluid or should I say chunks of the heart and guide it through digestion and whatever comes next, that’s probably why some meta humans have more than one power, like Jordan having the ability to affect minds and control metals, although, his metallic ability strained him a lot and he never really uses it because his body could never sustain it. I was beginning to understand a few things but why had majority of the league of light’s agents defected to the death squad, something was really off about that. At the end of the letter, there was a P.S, down there, my dad said all of it was being done for the members of the elite squad in the league of light, I found that also odd because there are no records of there being any elite squad or anything related to that, but then, my father could not be lying, I was not even entirely sure this letter was written by my dad but I guess I’ll have to stick to it for now. I didn’t want this getting in the wrong hands, so, I decided to get a lighter from the kitchen and burnt the paper to ashes. I took my bath and prepared for my would be very boring day, the day was actually very boring, just me alone, thanks to Kamal, I could now go outside but I didn’t try it because I knew the league of light will have me swarmed and fished out. Jordan called me tho, and that raised my spirits up a little bit. Elizabeth also called but I was sincerely not in the mood to talk to her, I still haven’t forgiven her for what she did to me. It was all too bad the league of light restricted me from having any access to the internet, maybe I wouldn’t be so bored, because I was beyond bored, the day passed and then came the day to meet Kamal, how I’d get to him however was my problem.

I wanted to see him but I did not want the league of light knowing where I was going to because I also wanted no problems for Kamal. I was having ideas of getting out when the light went off again, I knew that was a sign from Kamal, I filled my bed up to look like I was still in bed and put my electronic tag on the bed and under the duvet, I bolted out of the house and tried to follow the coordinates Kamal gave me, luckily for me, the location was only a few miles from mine, I got there and knocked on the giant gate in front of me. Kamal answered the gate and beamed at me with smiles as usual, he ushered me in and welcomed me thoroughly, he told me he would have loved to talk to me but we didn’t have enough time, so, we were going to move straight to training, I nodded in agreement and almost immediately, Kamal kicked me in the chest, that kick sent me flying into a ditch and it only took a moment but I finally realized that the ditch was full of exposed live wires and instead of electrocuting me, they were simply tingling me. I couldn’t move tho, my body felt like lead, I could barely move, Kamal called to me from above, I felt like strangling him but there was really nothing I could do. Kamal reminded me of my fight with my dad, he reminded me of how I could read my dad’s moves, my reaction speed was really fast, he told me that was my electric affinity at work, he told me I could draw more electricity and that would make my reaction speed a lot greater. He told me to absorb the tingling feeling I had, he told me to draw it towards my heart, that was where my battery was, I followed his advice and started to channel the electric currents to my heart, my body felt lighter and at a point, I just couldn’t take in more electricity, I stopped and got out of the ditch, what I saw next made me almost go mad, Kamal had said my reactions would be faster, that would probably include my reflexes too but it seemed like it was the exact opposite, I was not fast, everything was just super slow, like beyond slow. I looked at Kamal as he clapped at my achievement, his claps seemed so slow and when he probably noticed I was a little confused, he didn’t offer me any explanation, but instead, he charged at me, he charged but he was coming at me rather slowly, he tried to punch me which I easily dodged and then, I repaid him for the kick he gave me in the chest by landing a kick on his chest but unlike me, he was able to regain balance a few moments later, he came at me punching and kicking but I just dodged his attacks and gave him a serious beating, with my newly discovered powers, I was something of a master fighter, I could probably have made the list of people the league of light called ELITE……………
