Before Kelly could get away, McKenna got up from where he was sitting, leaned forward, and grabbed his shirt. "Want to escape? Come on, flee as quickly as you can."
"I know this is not right, but I can't help myself. "When we watched the camera footage, you needed to see how it all transpired." Breathing heavily, Kelley tried to explain.
"It does not matter how she did it. "Leave your crappy tale for an interested listener," McKenna slapped his red chin angrily.
"I'm sorry, boss. "I could have sworn she was innocent. "Do not hurt me, please. "Spare my life and I promise not to cause you pain anymore," Kelly pleaded.
'You realize that I have the legal authority to have you arrested for cooperating, don't you?" Releasing his shirt, McKenna made a threat to Kelly.
"Arrested?
Why? But..."
"No, but, you fool,"
McKenna cuts in.
"I said I wasn't going to harm you.
Now you are making me regret letting you go, even though I know I have already said that. "You pleaded with you for a smooth operation, but you bottled it." He reacted angrily.
"I would like to prove myself to you.
What can I do to make things right with you? I failed this one, but the next one will be different. "Please give me another chance," Kelly vowed.
"There will never be a next time. You only had one slot, and you wasted it. How do you expect me to trust you with the next assignment if you cannot complete this one? "Tell me one good reason I should not arrest you," McKenna yelled into his face.
"No reason, sir. You have every reason to be upset and angry at me. Josh faced the ground and replied," I made a fool of myself, and I accept full responsibility,
" Kelly bowed to pressure.
He saw no reason to act tough anymore when it was obvious that he had screwed up.
"Have you ever made a million dollars?" Mc Kenna tossed yet another probing question.
"No, not yet, sir." But I would like to someday,
"Kelly responded.
"With your attitude, I doubt you will make a half-million. Mistakes like this should not occur in any business."
"Here's my final verdict," McKenna said as he placed both hands behind him. He continued after a deep pause.
"You are hereby dismissed.
People like you are not needed here.
"We would rather not keep losing money like this," he declared before returning to his seat.
"Please, you cannot do that. "I know you have a good heart. "I'm ready to do anything just to get back my job. "I can't afford to lose it now," Kelly pleaded, as though his life depended on it.
"You should have thought about that before allowing someone to steal the check from you. "If I forgive you this time, you might do worse." McKenna clapped back. It didn't seem like he was ready to forgive Kelly anytime soon.
"Believe me, I have changed.
I don't mind forfeiting my salary for a few months just to get back to the team.
"I know there's something you can do. "I acknowledge my mistakes, and I'm ready to change," Kelly gestured to McKenna and knelt on the ground.
"What team? You were never a part of the team. "Just so you know, I'll make arrangements for your immediate replacement immediately," McKenna denied Kelly a second chance just to compile his woes.
"Is that the security department?
"I want you both to come down to my office immediately for a small assignment. "I need you to bundle someone out of my office.
"He would rather not leave." McKenna called security just when Kelly thought it was all over.
"Are you calling the security department on me? Now everyone will know I got sacked.
"With all due respect, sir, that's a slap in my face.
"I feel I deserve better," Kelly argued.
"You can't dictate how I treat my staff. Do you understand? Why are we even having this conversation? "You're no longer part of us and shouldn't be seen speaking to a staff member, including me," McKenna said. All of Kelly's apologies fell on deaf ears.
"Oops, it's all over. "I've lost this one," Kelly muttered succinctly.
He gave up already and stood up on the ground. He accepted his fate and knew it was all over.
He had no one to blame for his misfortunes except himself. If only he had been extra careful while handling the check, none of this would have happened.
Aside from losing his precious job that took him so long to find, Kelly is also bothered about not seeing Pamela.
He was angry at himself for losing her to the arrogant Pablo when it should have been his.
He's about to lose two things he cherished most in life; his job and Pamela, his crush.
Pamela is aware of Kelly's true feelings for her, but he is scared to walk up to her and admit his true feelings.
He considered her more than a colleague. He calls her his best friend and confidant.
She's the only one he talks to in times of distress. Talking to her eased whatever pain he was going through.
Pamela loved him so much. Countless times, she has proved that to him, even without mentioning it.
She perceived it inappropriate to ask Kelly out. She doesn't intend to sound stupid and look desperate either.
The closure and bonding that existed between them had spread throughout the office like wildfire and made other staff jealous.
They haven't seen such chemistry before. While most of the staff are speculating on a possible relationship between them, others are already convinced they're dating.
Pamela and Kelly have lunch together, go home together, and usually come to work together.
It was convincing the other staff that they weren't dating.
He even celebrated her last birthday in the company, sparking more controversy about their relationship.
She had been approached by different men who were miles better than Kelly for a relationship, but she declined while she waited for Kelly to do the right thing.
