My Mate

The big surprise

While sitting in a boring meeting with the vampires I smelled the most delicious smell of cherries and chocolate. I sat there thinking of what that smell could be until I felt a strange pull. "My mate" I mumbled running from the room. I followed the smell and pull into the entrance of the castle. There stood a beautiful woman with beautiful wings. She looked trapped and seemed like she was going to attack the vampires. I hugged her feeling her warm pale skin. Before I knew it I was falling to the ground hard. I blacked out for a split second before jumping back to my feet. I was too distracted by her unworldly beauty to notice vampires trying to catch her. That was until one yanked her to the floor she skidded across the floor and I smelled blood, her blood. I looked at her in horror as she popped her arm into place with a scream. Her scream felt as if it was pulling out a part of my soul, like it was taking some of my strength. Not long after the screaming stopped I stood to go towards her but she was not laying on the floor. I heard a thump and saw a vampire's head hit the floor and turn to ashes. My mate screamed and appeared to be panicking. I stood not knowing what to do, I felt her pain about killing him. It was as if I was frozen in time and I could not move or talk, I could barely see or hear. The next thing I remember is seeing smoke everywhere and the vampire she killed was fine except the spider web tattoo on his neck. I looked around and everyone seemed as confused as I was except the demon and my mate. She ran and jumped on the vampire hugging him. I hated her accepting him instead of me so my jealousy took over and I took her out of his arms and into mine. She told me her name was Lily and I loved the sound of her voice it was hypnotic. I said something along the lines of "that wasn't funny" or something like that. She kissed my cheek and flew up into the air before flying directly at me. Before I had the chance to move she crashed into me which took us both to the floor. She asked if there was a kitchen and before I could control my wolf I transformed into my big black and grey wolf before pouncing on her playfully. I must have pounced a little too hard because she fell face first into the floor. I panicked and tried to turn her over and when I did she was laughing. She didn't look hurt so I tilted my head in question. "Oh you're a wolf. Awe you are so cute" she laughed as she sat up to pet my wolf. I did not consider myself cute my wolf was six feet tall with wide shoulders, razor sharp teeth and claws and I was covered in dark fur. I looked dangerous and I was dangerous, this beautiful mate of mine however thought I was cute and here she was petting me and touching my teeth. She stood in front of me so she was eye level before rubbing her nose on mine. "I always wanted a puppy, but animals are not allowed in hell" she mumbled sadly. I was more worried about her being in hell then I was about her calling me a puppy. I shifted back into my human form and straightened out my clothes. "You are from hell" I whispered she gave me the "duh" look before holding out her pale arm before cutting it with one of her sharp deadly nails. "You can not just cut yourself" I muttered as I saw the black blood seep from her arm before the wound closed. "You are a demon" I asked in surprise. "Something like that" she said with a wink before running off into the kitchen.

Lily

I decided not to try any of my powers until I read some books on witches and Angels. Right now though I need to get something to eat. I remember humans talking about food but demons only drink water, blood or bread when we were injured. Demons don't need to eat in order to survive. I have always wanted to try earth foods that I heard about while working in hell and now that I am on earth I can finally try them. I walked into the kitchen after the vampires thinking about the great smells. Before anyone had a chance to say or do anything I charged towards the table full of amazing smells. I picked up some brown thing shaped like a small cup and ate it I almost melted at the taste. I dashed around the table trying everything, I did bite into a foul tasting, flat, white thing that was super hard. My mate gasped loudly as I chewed the hard thing. I looked down and realized that blood was pouring from my mouth so I spit the white thing out and wiped my mouth. "Water" I grumbled looking up at his shocked face. He pointed to a thing that looked a little like the sinks in hell but this one didn't have knobs. I tried to twist the part that the water comes out of and I accidentally broke it off. Water was spewing from the large hole and I grabbed a cup and filled it up. After finishing two cups I tried to put the thing back on. "How do I turn it off" I asked looking around, "I'll do it" a vampire mumbled before grabbing the thing I pulled from the sink. I went back to the food to try it a second time. Everyone stood shocked around the room instead of eating, I shrugged it off and continued to eat. After a few more minutes of me eating the different foods I was beginning to get angry at the silence in the room. "Hello" I said looking around before realizing everyone was virtually frozen except the man with the web on his neck. "What happened" I mumbled waving my hands in front of my mates face. He was so still why did it take me so long to notice? "I'm not sure maybe you froze them" he mumbled quietly looking around. "What" I yelled "Get me all the books on witches, Angels, hybrids and tribrids" I said as I paced around the frozen people. The Vampire disappeared for what seemed like hours before coming back with a large cart of books. "Where did you... Never mind" I mumbled before sitting down and opening up the first book. "Can you help.... I'm sorry what is your name" I asked as I scanned the first book. "Sam, my name is Sam" he mumbled before picking up a book and reading. After what seemed like forever I found a book about witches losing control due to dramatic changes. I've never been around vampires or werewolves. Now I just had to find a way to unfreeze everyone before something else goes wrong I just got here. How does me being part witch cause all of this?
