CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Goodnight, my love. Taehyung's voice echoed Ha Na's ears making her flinched in her slumber. She was confused, thinking it was Jin's voice. But the voice seemed different yet familiar. Out of a sudden, an image flashed in front of her. It was a man tucking her hair. A figure she knew but was a bit blurry. Her eyes shot opened but then faint footsteps were heard behind her and soon felt someone sitting down on her bed. She closed her eyes again. There was a long pause. "So you're the girl that Taehyung decided to marry? To be his Queen?" An unfamiliar voice of a man huffed, giving shivers all over Ha Na's body. She stayed still on her position, not moving a single bit. "Don't even think about it. He will definitely not stand by." He let out a chuckle. She could feel his cold hands on her shoulders making her not flinch as much as possible. But this is creeping the s**t out of her. "He is the one who is against of the King falling in love. How much more to a human?" The next words he said made Ha Na startled deep inside. "He will definitely kill you." Ha Na closed her eyes, tightly, gripping the pillow and feeling his hands on top of the blanket already. "But do you know what's the funniest thing is?" He giggled. "He felt interested with the person he was trying to kill. Too interested that he can't kill you yet." He exhaled, eyes piercing through Ha Na's body. "He must've saw something in you. Maybe it has to do something with his memories?" Ha Na's eyes shot open as she turned around to face him, leaning on her elbow and saw a figure in front of her. But she couldn't see the person clearly. As if someone's blocking her vision. "W-Who are you? Why can't I see?" Ha Na stuttered. "I knew you were awake." He snorted. "Why can't I s-see?!" Ha Na repeated, trying to move out of the bed but the person stopped her from sitting up, pushing her back to the bed. "You see darling," the man scoffed. "I have to ability to adjust your sight." "What a-are you doing here?!" Ha Na felt her blood rush as she panicked. The man's hands that were on her shoulder slides making her cringe. "Darling, you better be careful around him." She could feel him smirking, giving her goosebumps all over her body. "In fact, you should be careful to those people around you. They cannot be trusted." His hands left her shoulders as he stood up and turned his back on her while adjusting Ha Na's eyes back to clear view again. He opened the door and she could see his back from where she was as he left the room, blinking many times. But it was too late. She couldn't see him anymore. Ha Na stared at the door for a minute before snapping herself out of reality, blinking so many many times and shaking her head. "Was I dreaming?" she muttered, pulling the duvet away from her as she sat up. A yawn escaped her mouth for the last time before standing up. She shook my head, thinking. Don't think of it too much, Ha Na. Maybe he wasn't serious about. How could the King like you? You are nothing. You don't have such ethereal beauty to seduce the king, right? You shouldn't. She just sighed and tried not to think about it, thinking it might be some hallucinations or her dreams. Although his words bothered her a lot. She closed her eyes, tightly. Jin...can you hear me? Who are you talking to? Ha Na was startled by the sudden voice as her eyes widened. She was sure the voice doesn't surely belong to Jin. That is way not Jin's voice and she closed her eyes again, trying to communicate. Who are you? Is that you, Ha Na? How do you know me? It's me, Jimin. Wait what? Ha Na gasped, eyes widened along with a groan and trying not to communicate with the bastard again. Don't even think that you still can't communicate with me, Ha Na. Ha Na scoffed on disbelief. Blood started to boil again as she couldn't help but think of what Jimin has done to Jungkook. I can hear thoughts too you know. "Bastard." Ha Na muttered under her breath, hoping that he could hear that too. I can hear that too. "Glad, you did." She hissed and made her way to the bathroom until someone knocked. She went to the door, opening it to see Jin making her jaw dropped. She took a step back, surprised by his sudden presence. "You called for me?" Jin grinned and walked in, passing by the frozen lady. She shook her head before closing the door behind. "How did you—?" "Jimin said you needed me." Seokjin shrugged his shoulders, sitting down on the bed, crossing his legs. "So why do you want me?" "He told you?" Ha Na frowned and he nodded. "He can hear and communicate with someone through mind, you know." "I thought only you can hear?" She asked in confusion. "I can hear but I cannot communicate. That's different." Seokjin chuckled, pressing his lips into thin line. "He's the only one who has that special ability. In fact, every Duke has different abilities." "Why do you have different abilities? Not that I didn't know. It's just so confusing how you guys have different ones when vampires can run and all, you know what I mean?" "Yeah. Well, all vampires are born to have the ability to run fast, smell, gain strength and others. But there are some who have special skills or abilities beyond the vampires skills such as us, the Dukes." Ha Na raised an eyebrow. She walked towards him, crossing her arms over her chest and standing in front of him. "I bet you know about the Dukes right?" Ha Na nodded. "Jung Hoseok, Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin and Park—" ParPark—Her eyes widened, chin started to quiver as it hits her. Park Jimin. It felt like her whole life has been lying and betraying her as soon as he said the name. She mentally slapped herself, wishing she could punch herself so hard to the death point. She never realised it until now— that Jimin is one of the Dukes when she literally mentioned it to Elisse before. Ha Na looked at Jin with wide eyes, asked him nonchalantly. "Is J-Jimin a Duke?" "Yes he is. You didn't know?" he answered, raising an eyebrow in confusion as well. "I thought you knew? Didn't you met him last night?" She shook her head in disbelief and Jin huffed. "What happened between you and Jimin by the way?" Now that's the real question. Ha Na sighed and sat down beside him. "Remember when I told you that my little nephew died?" He nodded and turned to face her. Probably getting interested. "What happened?" "J-Jimin—he was there." She gulped. "What do you mean?" "He—" she choked her words, suppressing her tears. "He killed him." Ha Na looked at him in the eyes, hoping that he would believe her and that she wasn't trying to make up stories. The Duke's brows knitted together. "That's strange. Jimin isn't that kind of person to kill a human." "He wasn't a human." The frail girl replied bluntly. "It was a werewolf. He was killed after his mother." "Werewolf?" Ha Na nodded. "You mean, Jimin killed a werewolf and that werewolf—the kid, is your bloodline?" "Yes. I was trying to protect him from getting killed after his mother got killed by vampires." Jin gulped, realising the he was the commissioner who was assigned by that task. He was assigned to search for the werewolves and wipe them out. He felt a pang of guilt when he could've been the reason of her bloodline's death.
