Alexis walked with Penelope up the pebbled walkway toward Faye’s two-story condominium. Faye sat on the front porch in a floral summer dress with a slit up to her thighs, backless heels, and her hair tucked into a French roll. “Ah.” She sipped from a big glass of ice tea. “What a lovely surprise.” Alexis and Penelope stopped in the grass. “So what brings you here, Detectives?” Faye smiled.
