The man behind the windows

The Year 2145. >; >; >; >. The man thus began to walk up the stairs of that glass building, arrived at the elevator, entered, and pressed the button 101. The elevator began to go up and in just over five minutes it opened again, revealing a room completely illuminated by the external light that penetrated the huge windows that surrounded the room. The man sat down on the leather chair, turned on the computer on his desk, and started reading the message: "To the head of the S.O.E, hi, we are HN, welcome to the end of the short era of change, we will keep you updated" The man was struck by it, but did not think much, in his head it was nothing but nonsense, no one could ever stop the power of S.O.E and what everyone had called the "Era of change". The elevator light came on. > - The man said from his earphone. > - Was the answer. > - The man answered opening the elevator door. Julius entered the room with a small package in his hands, walked over to the desk, and placed it on it. >; > - Julius replied, continuing - >; >; > - the man said before turning and walking towards the elevator. Viskon got up from his chair and walked over to the small package on his desk; he took a utility knife and started cutting the tape that held the two upper ends closed. Opening the box inside, he found nothing but a card, a memory card. He took the card and inserted it into the computer he had on his desk, sat down, and started reading the card: "Dear Mr. Johann Viskon, we pay you our respects, inside the card you received we give you a little hint of what you will see happening in the next seven days. Kind regards, HN. " Viskon placed the sheet of paper on the desk and began to check the inside of the memory card: There were several rows: mostly they were pictures of S.E.O buildings, plus several tourist attractions of the city. While leafing through the hundreds of photos, Viskon suddenly had a start: in one of the photos, the building in which he was at the moment was destroyed. Viskon observed that image for several minutes before realizing that, in the lower right corner, there was an inscription: "Do you have any doubts? Read 7/4. " The man was slightly confused, he didn't understand what he could refer to, but still looking through the files on the memory card, I found one named "7/4". He opened it and it was a text file: “TYLACTWESPCPHTWWMPESPQTCDERWZMLWMWLNVZFE” "It doesn't mean anything." - Thought Viskon, however the thought that the skyscraper in which he resided could be razed to the ground worried him, he knew very well that it was impossible given the enormous security that his company had developed all over the world, but the ability with which he had received the photos and letters had put him in an upset situation. > - He said. > - They answered from his earphone. In a few minutes, the elevator light turned on us, given the consent the doors opened and Julius entered the room. > - Julius said, continuing - >; > - Viskon replied troubled; > - Julius asked; Viskon regained his composure and said - >; > - And as before he turned and walked towards the elevator. Viskon got up, poured himself a drink, and looking out of the window kept thinking about everything that was inside the memory card. As she kept thinking about that strange message, it didn't make sense, yet she had a strange feeling that it could still mean something. He kept thinking about it for several minutes, in the silence of his study, when he finally came to what in his head was the answer: an encrypted code. "But with which cipher?" Viskon wondered. He immediately went back to his computer and opened the file again. He stood looking at the writing trying to think of a way to solve the problem; looked at the photos, all of them, hoping that there might be inside them. He opened the software that his company had created and which were the same ones that since his grandfather, the first founder, and entered the message inside. The software went to work producing a new message: “OILAKRNVUFHDRTBEPEOLDSETPLDTIPJFDNWMNVVI” No useful results. Viskon thought that maybe the encryption key was wrong, so he tried another one. He continued using all the encryption keys the software had available, but without getting any results. Something was wrong, maybe that message was really meaningless, or maybe, as Viskon thought, the encryption key was completely invented. Viskon leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and began to think: “What's the point of using a brand new encryption key and then delivering the message? I'm missing something, I'm sure. Maybe I'm imagining everything. What if it was just a joke? Are they making fun of me? " The man, who has always been a figure who appeared proud, imperturbable, at that moment felt fearful, anxious, paranoid. He closed everything and decided to go home. He took his coat, his briefcase and took the elevator down all one hundred and one floors of the building. In the lobby, he noticed that Julius was talking to people outside the front door, they looked like reporters. Viskon went to the reception and asked: > > - replied the porter. > - Viskon retorted - > Viskon went out in rage, but opening the door he managed to mask it behind a completely calm face, as he used to show himself. > - Shouted a reporter, handing the microphone over Julius's arm, bringing it close to the man's mouth. > - Very calmly, I replied to the reporters, Viskon got in the car and headed home. When he arrived he opened the gate to let the car in, at the door his butler was waiting for him with a letter in one hand. > - He said. Viskon went in, opened the letter, and read it. He couldn't believe it. He immediately picked up the phone: > - And he hung up.
