" From the stories of my grandfather, I can only imagine how freely people once lived their lives compared to today. My grandfather often talked to me about how modern times now didn't allow people to express who they wanted to be even when they were alone.
He always said that this all looked like an old book he had read by a certain English writer whom I don't remember now. I never managed to understand much of his speeches, I was born in this society and with these rules, everything is normal for me. I loved my grandfather, but I always thought he was crazy about his words.
Now we live in peace, how could the past age ever be more beautiful? Not that I really care after all, if I had been born at that time I probably would never have become as rich as today. "
During what was called the sixth industrial revolution the world underwent a huge change. Every nation, at the end of its strength due to crime, mafia, and terrorism, came together to find a solution to all this. The past wars had severely wounded the population, now no one wanted to fight anymore, there was a crisis, there was no food, money, work.
The "benefactors" came forward as "S.O.E" - Security On Everything. A leader in the cybersecurity industry claimed to have found a way for all of this to terminate. Governments, in order to introduce the new system proposed by this company, began to work on a new set of laws, in order to protect any action taken by them.
Every city, every nation was thus invaded by technicians of all kinds, every corner of every city was covered with cameras; each man, woman, and the child was then registered, photographed, checked and the data on them entered into the database; every new device produced had the S.O.E trademark on it, as well as every other software it contained.
The riots were many, people began to claim their privacy, but everything stopped after a few years. The people had noticed that with the intervention of these new laws, new protocols, and new technology, crime had dropped significantly, the S.O.E. had given work to all those who were left without, thus reviving the global economy.
In the news, the numerous reports of arrested criminals, thwarted crimes, new jobs every week, and the enormous help that the SOE had brought began to affect ordinary people so much, that they soon stopped caring about their privacy in order to continue their life in this "utopia" of a world of peace, where everything is controlled.
Upon the death of the founder Connor Frederic Viskon and his son Edward Viskon, the company passed into the hands of Johann Viskon, grandson of the founder. Although apparently completely harmless, his neglect of past matters has meant that S.O.E. was put in serious trouble by a still unknown group that claims their privacy, exhuming old secrets now forgotten.
