Chapter 10 The day was icy cold, twenty degrees colder than the day before. As Trey pulled into the driveway, he glanced across the inside of the truck at Landon. “You need a hand with the crutches?” “No, I’ve got it.” Trey ground his teeth. Even if he could barely stand, Landon wouldn’t ask for help. This time around, Trey had gotten the hospital to give him all the discharge paperwork. Landon wasn’t supposed to put any weight on his leg for the next seventy-two hours and then only partial weight-bearing for the following week. The laceration had been so deep into the muscle, there was a risk the stitches and staples would tear out if he stressed the wound much at all.
