The light shining through the window was dim and gray. Landon woke feeling disoriented. He was in bed, covered with a blanket. Hadn’t he been downstairs? No, there had been the bitter discussion with Trey and his intention to leave and then…he remembered crying like a little kid. So torn up emotionally, he hadn’t been able to hold it together. Trey had held him and told Landon he loved him. That had been real hadn’t it? He wasn’t sure. He pushed himself up. The movement cranked up the pain in his thigh.
