Chapter 23 It was just after six that next morning. Merrick had been awake since around five and had watched Grant sleep for a while, before his hunger led him to the kitchen. Now, he stood at the counter, eating from a container of leftover chicken he’d found in the refrigerator. There would be a lot to do to get ready this morning and he was sure Wyatt had it all planned out. A good amount of trepidation filled him about facing Wyatt that morning, but maybe they could just focus on the job they still had to do. On the counter, a twelve-inch TV held his interest.
