Earth 2 New Beginnings

It was a normal day. The sun was shining and I was in high school. It was a fairly average school where all the kids are in groups that make up their personalities. Me being who I am no one was my friend… I was the nerd of the school. Two other kids in that school were nerds and they became my friend. They were brothers and so they saw me as a brother it made school better from there. My name is Jordan and I am 18 my parents said that the rainstorm school in a small town called star view city was the best school for a smart student like me. I don’t like calling myself smart but my parents tell everyone they have the smartest kid and I don’t like that. Hesh and Jay are my friends' names they have been with me for a while and we all had the same plan to go into war but I didn’t go I focused on a big project that would save the world if anything. The day came when Hesh and Jay were heading to the army. “So I guess this is a goodbye for now” (I said trying not to cry) “hey we will be back sooner than you think Jordan”(Hesh said confidently) “we will be back that I know…just keep working on your project even though you built it for us I know it will help others more” (jay said as he hugged me) “yeah man I will you guys will be happy to see it done and not in the terraforming process” “you and your nerd s**t man sometimes it confuses me and I’m a nerd”(Hesh said laughing). We said our goodbyes and I went back to the school and started to continue the building of my project. I kinda ditched the idea of it a year later and it took Hesh and Jay four years to get back from the army. I am twenty-three and I got a call about my project in the school it was taking up too much space in the school’s basement which is the only place I could build it because of the space I had. I got my backpack and went down to the school to gather as much as I could from the project. when I got to the school the principal was waiting for me at the front doors. “Hey Jordan it’s been a while and sorry we called out of nowhere like this” “it’s fine I completely understand principle Braken” “what is it anyway that your building “ “it’s the future and right now it’s nothing…I haven’t touched the machine in four years…It probably doesn’t work anymore since the parts are either rusted or damaged” “damaged? From what” “from the water that travels through the pipes which leak”. We finally got down there and a tarp was over it. I went over to it and pulled it off and revealed a huge portal-looking device. “Yes, I’m back sweetie…it’s been a long time” (I whispered to myself) “so can you do anything with it” ”yeah it can still be saved” ”maybe?” “Yeah, I think it can be saved” “your piece of s**t project can be saved (Jay said as he walked into the room with Hesh following) “yeah maybe it can be Jay” “oh well then maybe you should be working on it instead of letting it rot” (I laughed at what he said) “well it can still be saved but it may take an hour or two”. When we all finished talking the principal's radio went off saying there was lava spewing from cracks in the earth's crust…well the person said it in a dumb way I’m just saying it the smart way. Then we heard a loud explosion and when I looked down at my feet, I saw cracks in the floor not too big just enough to where your phone could fall through. Also, I caught the glimpse of bright orange within the cracks. “Umm guys look down” (I said trying to stay calm) “did your project do this Jordan” (Hesh said mad) “No, it has not been active for 3 years and it never booted up” (I said as I was looking at the logs on the computer) ”I need you three to gather people from in the school and in the area in till I can get this to work…can you do that” “yeah we can do that”. I started to see what I was stuck on so many years ago and when I found out what it was, I felt dumb. The other side needed to be turned on before anything now that the terraforming should be done it should be active. I hope it’s active. A couple of hours later 500 people were in the room and flooded into the hallway and come up the stairs. "So is this done yet Jordan” “well there may be a chance it may not work but if it does then we will be okay…I hope”. I started to turn everything on and that was a good sign that it was on from the other side. Then when everything started up the glow of blue and purple filled the room. “Well, this is a good sign now…who wants to go through the portal” (I said hoping I didn’t have to go first) “I don’t think anyone wants to go first” (Jay said) “fine I’ll go first and if I don’t come back in 6 seconds it’s safe” “how does that make any sense” (the principle said) “I have it coded to if I die it would close the portal in 6 seconds so nothing can get through”. I looked into the portal and I walked through and what I saw felt like a dream. The glow of the bright big orange and the red sun shone on the dark purple grass. The trees are a bit lighter purple. The building looked fantastic they are all white very futuristic-like. I heard the others coming through and all I heard was “wow” from everyone. “Jordan…you did it” “yeah…yeah, I did do it” (I said trying to catch my breath from achieving an impossible task) ”well now what do we do” (Hesh said kinda worried) “we live…and we make this planet thrive”. I went to the central part of the city I had pre-built it’s where I did most of the work as a robot. I walked into the room and I saw my suit I made to survive here if I couldn’t make oxygen. It’s all black with the helmet having a bit of a curve down the middle so I can see better. The mask had polycarbonate plastic underneath the black visor. You may be wondering why black for the color because I thought it would be cool. Hesh and jay came to check on me to see how I was doing in the middle of the night. Since I couldn’t sleep after all that has happened and learning my parents never made it through the portal but they should have the math does not make sense “hey man how are you doing”(said Jay) “I don’t know if I'm better or if I'm worse…my parents never made it through which they should have”(said starting to get a bit angry and sad) “Jordan I know your parents meant a lot to you but…I don’t how to say this but maybe they got stuck”(said Hesh trying to help)“Hesh we have to tell him what we found” “What…what did you find” “we found your mom with a sword through her chest but your dad was nowhere to be found” “How did that happen…how is that possible we didn’t have swords in the house” “I don’t know but whoever did it is dead I hope and I’m sorry Jordan”(Jay said with his hand on my shoulder)“I guess it’s time to move on and focus on what now awaits the future of This planet(said Jordan trying to stay calm) “that’s all we can do man”(Hesh said). I went to my office that I was building to just clear my head and even though it’s not finished it’s still a chill place. It was dark and the stars were out they looked so beautiful better than earth. Since there’s no light pollution it makes everything better. Instead of one moon, we have three different moons it’s an amazing sight to see. “Well, I see your project work” (said a girl behind me) “well thanks to you it was possible Scarlet” (I said thankful and happy to see her) “I only helped with the location of the planet that’s all I did” “yeah you started this place…and I finally finished it” “you did well Jordan but I’m going to head to my planet I just thought I’d come by and see you” (she smiled and hugged me) “it was good seeing you to scarlet”(I said as I hug her back) “see you soon Jordan”. She walked out of the building and got into her space ship and left. Scarlet was a very great helper I contacted her she’s an alien but it’s awesome to meet an alien.
