Chapter 3

Jordan, Not only was it Brock in the room, he was a big guy. Now there are three big guys in the room also Bears. I was so uneasy, I just wanted to shift and run, but my wolf ensured me that they were safe. That they are here to keep us safe, to protect us. I wasn’t too sure, since these are bears, I don’t know how bears operate. I was now sitting on the couch. Jax had my hand in both of his. He was examining my arm after he unwrapped my arm from the gauze. “Are these wolf bites?” He asked. His voice was deep and husky, deeper than Brocks. I looked at the floor closing my eyes, reliving how every time I shifted the entire pack of wolves would attack, all at once like a pack of wild dogs. I was defenseless. I could hardly stand on my own against the entire pack, snarling and growling as they attacked. I didn’t stand a chance. Jax was taking extra care to make sure he wasn’t going to scare me. Moving slowly, showing me that he wasn’t going to hurt me, all the men in the room took extra caution. Brock was the next to speak, “Jordan, where is your pack? Do you want us to find them?” he asked. This caused me to panic. “No! you're not going to tell them are you?” I asked, starting to panic. All the men looked at each other Brock The severe reaction to me mentioning her pack all made sense. The skittishness, not really speaking, hesitation, being so terrified, It all added up. Her pack did this to her! I felt as if my bear was about to surface. He was getting angry and aggravated. Jax stood up, putting his hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me down. “Jordan, we’re not going to tell them, but you do need to tell us what happened,” Jax spoke calmly, but all of the others looked like they were going to kill someone. She looked at each and everyone of us, not really sure what to do. “It’s okay you can trust us.” Cody spoke with a big smile. She took a deep breath. We all watched her movements carefully, “When you found me... I wasn’t running from just anyone...” She spoke, looking down at her arm and placing her opposite hand on it. “I was running from my pack and family...” She spoke quietly She looked around, “I’m sorry I just can’t,” She spoke that fast. She shifted and jumped through the window and took off running. I took off running after her along with the others. Jordan I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t tell them. I couldn’t tell them all the abuse I endured in the pack. I couldn’t tell them about the constant attacks. Everything I suffered, I just couldn’t relive that I couldn’t look in their eyes and see the pity. Or risk them handing me back over to them. My paws hit the dirt lightly but fast. I had a limp in my steps as I ran due to my injuries. I was so caught up in my thoughts I was cut off by a grizzly. He stood on his hind legs. Which caused me to stop dead in my tracks. My ears back and tail between my legs. I let out a whine. I smelled this was Brock. I backed up slowly, my ears still back and tail still tucked between my legs, Then suddenly another Grizzly. this one with a little bit of white on his nose. This was Jax I took in each of their smells when we were at Brocks place. I was surrounded by all of them. I was making myself as small as I could be. I made a run for it knowing full well that being surrounded my odds weren’t too good. When I made my run for it, one of the grzzly’s knocked me to the ground. The bear was hovering above me. As I lay on my back looking up at the bear terrified. One of them went behind a tree and shifted,, I saw it was Brock. He was putting the clothes he must have thrown off of himself as he tried catching up with me. That was my guess, anyway. “Jordan, we’re not going to hurt you.” He spoke, kneeling in front of me. “Whatever is scaring you, let us help. Let us understand.” He spoke, looking at me. “Let us help you.” He said, holding his hand out to me. 'Do I risk everything letting these grizzlies in? I just don't want anymore pain, I don't want them handing me over once I tell them everything. 'But they helped us." My wolf shouts. They did patch me up and looked generally worried about my well being.... "Please, we want to help you," Brock says again. "They will keep us safe!!' My wolf yelled again. I feel my ears flatten on my head as I whine Brock puts his hand in between my ears. "Lets go back to the cabin, okay," he says with a smile. He roars at me to make me shift back and I do. Shifting so much in one day is exhausting. I feel Brock cover me with a jacket and pick me up. I hear footsteps behind us. It must be Jax and the others. I just hope I don't regret trusting these bears.
