Till Death Do Us Part

Malynn was sitting by the tree in the courtyard of her family home, eating lunch. She watched as her peers walked by with their mates. She felt out of place in the pack. She was 18, with dark long wavy, jet-black hair. She has a thick chest and a body to die for. Malynn is short only 5'2 in height. She does not know why she is so short. Both of her parents are tall. But then again, she is nothing like them. She watches the couples walk by, laughing, touching, and genuinely happy. "Why can't I have that?" She asks out loud without realizing it. Now she feels dumb. Who talks to themselves? Oh, right. Crazy people. Malynn gets up and turns to walk back into the house when she runs face-first into the one person she didn't expect to see. "Kkkk kkkk Kody!" Malynn squeaks as she falls back onto the ground. Right on her ass. How embarrassing. Not only did she fall, but she fell right into her lunch. Mortified, Malynn hurried and stood up, trying to wipe off the food remnants on her clothing and trying not to shed tears. All the while, Kody stands there looking sexy and amused. The worst part is Kody just laughed and walked away. Malynn's POV I can't believe that just happened. What is wrong with me? The hottest unmated male in my pack was standing in MY yard, and I made a complete fool of myself. Upset, I bend over and pick up my lynch off the ground. Placing a hand on the tree so I don't lose my balance and fall over again. Then I rushed back inside, hoping no one saw what had happened. Oh, did I forget to mention Kody is the future alpha of the Blackwood pack? He is 6'5 and has washboard abs. He is older than me by a few years. Kody is 23 and is not mated, either. But he has his wolf already. Men, regardless of mating status, get their wolf at 17. Women don't get their Wolf until they mate. I'm the only 18-year-old unmated female. Goddess only knows why?
