🌑Love was never meant for someone like Caleb Garcia. At least, that's what he believed. The city glittered beneath him, a sea of lights stretching endlessly into the horizon. From the glass walls of his penthouse office, everything looked small, people, problems, even emotions. Especially emotions.Caleb stood still, his hand wrapped around a glass of untouched whiskey. His reflection stared back at him, sharp jawline, cold eyes, and a face that had never learned how to soften."Love is weakness."The words echoed in his mind, spoken years ago by the one person who taught him everything about it by breaking him.Veronica. Even now, her name felt like a scar he refused to touch. Caleb tightened his grip on the glass. He had built everything from that pain, his empire, his control, his indifference. Billionaire. CEO. Untouchable. And alone. Just the way he wanted it. Or so he thought.—Across the city, in a small apartment filled with warm lights and laughter, Cassy Williams sat on the edge of her bed, clutching a letter in her hands. Her fingers trembled not from fear, but from hope."Congratulations. You are hired."She read it again. And again. And again. A soft smile spread across her lips, her eyes shining with quiet happiness. "I did it…" she whispered.Behind her, her younger sister Luna peeked in, grinning. "You got the job, didn't you?"Cassy turned, laughing softly as she nodded. Luna rushed to hug her tightly. "I'm so proud of you!"Cassy hugged her back just as tight. "This is just the beginning," Cassy said gently. She didn't know how true those words would become. She didn't know that this job would change everything. That it would lead her straight into the life of a man who had forgotten how to feel.A man who would test her heart… Break it… And maybe, just maybe learn to love because of her. Cassy looked down at the letter again.Garcia Enterprises. Executive Secretary to the CEO.She smiled, unaware of the storm she was about to walk into. Some love stories begin with fate.Theirs… Would begin with a contract.

THE MAN WHO DOESN’T SMILE
The first thing Cassy noticed about Garcia Enterprises was how cold it felt, not physically but emotionally. The building towered above the city like a giant made of glass and steel. Inside, everything was polished, perfect, and quiet, too quiet. Cassy clutched her bag as she stepped into the elevator, her heart pounding loudly in her chest. "Relax," she whispered to herself, forcing a small smile. "You can do this." The elevator doors opened on the top floor and that's when everything changed. The atmosphere was different here heavier, sharper, like the air itself demanded perfection. "Miss Williams?" Cassy turned to see a well-dressed man approaching her. "I'm Adrian Cruz," he said with a friendly grin. "The only nice person you'll meet on this floor." Cassy blinked, then laughed softly. "That's… comforting." "Don't worry," Adrian added. "You'll survive. Maybe." "Maybe?" she repeated, raising an eyebrow before Adrian could answer, the large office doors at the end of the hallway suddenly opened and he walked out. Caleb Garcia. Everything about him commanded attention, the way he moved, the way people instantly went silent, the way his presence alone seemed to lower the temperature of the room. Cassy froze. He was… breathtaking. Tall, perfectly dressed in a black suit, his expression unreadable. His sharp eyes scanned the hallway and then landed on her. For a moment, time stopped. Cassy felt her heart skip, not in romanceb ut in warning. Those eyes held nothing, no warmth, no curiosity just cold indifference. "Who is she?" Caleb asked, his voice low and firm. Adrian smirked slightly. "Your new secretary." Caleb's gaze stayed on Cassy for a few seconds longer, judging, measuring, dismissing. "She won't last." The words hit harder than they should have. Cassy blinked, her fingers tightening around her bag but instead of shrinking, she smiled brightly, gentle, unshaken. "Well," she said softly, meeting his gaze, "I guess we'll find out." For the first time, something flickered in Caleb's eyes, not warmth, not interest but something unfamiliar. Surprise. He turned away without another word, walking back into his office. The door closed behind him and just like that, Cassy Williams stepped into a world where hearts were guarded… And love was the most dangerous risk of all.
