Chapter 3: Mr. Cool Guy

It's been three days and Xian is still not back, maybe he's still at his parents'place. School is not the same without him around, he seems to have this energy that even without him trying people actually admire him.

"Taby, lets go we'll be late for the presentation." Sasha said.

"I'll be right there." Taby answered.

Cleo was already seated when they arrived at the classroom and this time she chose the first row, but since Xian is not around that actually made Taby a little sad, but of course she did not show it to her friends.

Taby was almost done with her presentation when her eyes looked into the top row of the bench and she saw Xian. He just smiled at her. "when did he came in?" Taby said to herself. She quickly move her eyes elsewhere. She doesn't want him to think that she was looking for him.

Taby, Sasha and Cleo's project was selected as the winner. Taby notice that Xian was already standing next to the professor.

"Xian you're here, were you able to see the presentation of these girls, it was amazing." Professor Li said

"Yes sir, and it seems like I need to polish on my skills or they might beat me to it." Xian said smiling.

All three girls just smiled.

Sasha and Cleo picked up the books that they use.

"Taby, we'll just return this to the library" said Sasha

Taby answered with a thumbs up, and she started walking back toward the dorm.

"Tabitha, are you avoiding me?." Xian asked.

Taby almost jumped because she didn't know that he was following her.

"no, why would I?" Taby answered, she also wanted to add that she's been waiting for him to return since day one, but of course she doesn't want to sound clingy.

"I've attended a convention that's the reason why I wasn't able to get back early." he said.

Taby looked at him, "did he read my mind, how come he knew what i was thinking." she thought to herself

"So, I'm right, you're avoiding me because I didn't get back early, Did you miss me.?" Xian tease.

"No way, I don't miss you, and you can do whatever you like with your time." Taby said then she walked fast towards their dorm room.

Xian chuckle.

So his princess actually has a temper. which makes her more interesting, but he will not push further that might make her run away. Xian can't keep himself from smiling.

Other students around were mesmerized, they haven't seen him being this so carefree, he's always aloof and serious. Some girls even took his picture.

Xian also walked to their dorm. when he opened the door his friends were smiling widely at him.That made him worry.

"Xiannnnnnn, have you heard the news?" Clay cooed

"what news?." He asked

Shane walked up to him to show his phone, Xian saw his picture, a lot of them actually, and there's a caption saying, "Our school Mr Cool Guy is smiling, someone might have already captured his heart".

"So who is the lucky girl?." Shane asked intrigue about the news.

"Don't believe everything that you read, I'm just happy because the presentation was a success, and also I've learn a lot from the convention." Xian said

Shane and Clay looked at each other and they shake their head, not believing Xian's answer.

Back at Taby's dorm her heart is still beating so fast. How can he easily read her mind, is she that obvious?.

It's good that her friends are still in the library or they might ask her why she almost run to their dorm.

Taby opened her laptop and a direct message came in, she check the sender and it was from Xian. She blushed right away, but was also curious as to why he message her.

"Am I forgiven for not saying that I'll be away?." Xian said

"You don't have to ask for forgiveness, were cool." Taby replied.

"Really?." Xian asked.

"Yes, really" she message back.

"So, if I asked you out, then you wouldn't mind?". Xian said.

Taby read the message again, "wait is he asking me out?" Taby can't contain her smile.

"Um.. are you okay Xian? Is it really you sending this message?" Taby asked while laughing. She feel excited and like there's butterflies on her stomach.

Xian read her reply and he laugh loudly, making his friends look into him suspiciously.

"Can I help you guys?." Xi asked his friends.

"Nope, continue whatever you are doing". Clay said.

Xian started typing again on his laptop.

"Of course its me and yes I'm okay, Do you need proof?, I can send you my picture if you like?." Xian hit send and waited for Tabitha to reply.

Taby laugh while typing in her reply.

"Oh really, yes if you may, kindly send me your picture, I just wanted to make sure" Taby reply.

After a few minutes her phone chime indicating that she have a message, she pick it up and was shocked when she open the message it was Xian's picture. She was still looking at his picture when her phone ring. It's an unknown number but she have an idea on who's calling.

"Hello, Tabitha? was my picture enough proof already?" Xian said on the other line.

"Hi, how did you get my number? and yes you look good in your picture, I mean it's okay." she said stammering.

"My mom forwarded it to me, she said It might come handy in the future, well she is right as always." Xian said

Taby can't contain her laugh on the phone. It seems like their parents are really playing matchmaker,

"So, I'll ask you again, would you like to go out with me?" he said.

"Sure, as long as nobody else will suddenly pull my hair out from nowhere, knowing that you're popular with the girls from the school". Taby tease

"Okay, It's a date then, I'll pick you up around seven thirty, see you later". Xian ended the call.

Tabitha was speechless. then when looked at the clock it was six thirty already, she hurriedly jumped and went straight to shower and get dressed for her first date.

Xian was on time, when Tabitha came out of their dorm he was standing outside waiting for her. Taby smiled at him and notice that there are other girls around looking.

Xian gestures for her to hold his hand then he help her get inside his car.

Taby still can't believe that this is happening, she was just admiring him before.

"A penny for your thought" Xian said while driving.

"Are you for real?, I mean you used to be aloof and you don't pay attention to anybody and now you suddenly asked me out?" Taby finally said what's on her mind.

Xian slowly parked the the on the side of the road, then he looked straight into Taby's eyes. Blue eyes meeting Blue-green eyes.

Taby can feel that her cheeks are turning red. Is she going to melt anytime soon?.

"Tabitha what do I need to do or say for you to finally believe that this is for real, I know that I may have been aloof before, It's just because I haven't meet the right girl and to be honest everything is new to me as well, So, there might be sometime that I won't be able to say the right word or I might have some shortcomings, but all I'm asking is that if you can give me sometime to adjust and be the best version of myself that is right for you" Xian said sincerely.

Taby doesn't know how to reply, Xian is revealing himself to her, asking her to believe in what they have right now.

"I'll be glad to give you all the time that you need, and I'm happy that you're being honest with your feelings". Taby said while trying to hold her tears back, but no luck on that.

"Hey, why are you crying?, I'm sorry did I say something wrong?" Xian tried to think back on what he said to her.

"No, you didn't say anything wrong, I was just happy" Taby tried to smile.

"Tears of joy then, Come here". Xian said, then he carefully pulled her close to him in a tight embrace.

That made her cry more. Xian laughed loudly.

After having dinner, Xian walked her back into her dorm. Taby felt like time was so fast when she was with him, and it seems like he read her mind, when he suddenly said.

"Tomorrow, if you're free we can visit your dad, my mom has been asking me as to when we can visit your father. then maybe you can show me around the places that you normally visit, or we can just hang out. you decide."

"I'd love that, and thank you for the wonderful dinner." Taby said with a smile on her lips.

"I'll see you tomorrow".
