Prologue
"Go out with me."
"No." I snapped back at Aaron.
"Please, come on. I promise you won't regret it."
"How many times does a girl have to say no for it to sink into that thick skull?" I finished ringing up the very impatient customer waiting for her change. She snapped the money out of my hand and scoffed at me before storming off. "You see what you did? No tip." He looks over at me after flipping a burger on the grill, puts the spatula to his face, and pouts his lips at me.
"I'll give you my tips if you go out with me."
"Then that would make me a w***e now wouldn't it?"
"I said go out with me, not have s*x with me now didn't I? That would make you more of an escort." He laughed then resumed to flipping the burgers. I grunted furiously, and scolded at him from behind. "I saw that." I stuck my tongue out at the back of his head. "That too." He chimed, causing me to grow even more pissed.
"I really need to focus on college and work, and using the work money I make, INCLUDING my tips to pay my way through college. This is my first year, and I'm already failing in half my classes. I need to quit though, I can't concentrate on college anymore and work all of this overtime."
"It's sounds to me like you really need to just take a break and go out. I think that would release some of that tension, and you would be able to handle all of this a little bit better."
"If I agree to go out with you, will you stop harassing me?"
"Yes, I will, AND I will help tutor you on your work. I am a year ahead of you, and I have taken all of those basic classes."
"Tutor me? You're hilarious. You probably failed and partied your way through."
"Actually, I hold a 4.0 and aced them all, so..."
Well, that was embarrassing. After all of the time we spend together working, he seemed goofy and dumb to me. I never imagined him being intelligent in any way. Why not give it a shot? Plus, I could use the extra tutoring and help.
When I came to college, I only wanted to focus on one thing, my studies, but maybe some fun wouldn't be such a bad thing... right?
