Chapter 30“I think we have an officer off post.” Drake spoke calmly into the interoffice intercom. He was on 'line one,' the line which connected directly to Supervisor Harkin's office. The real-time image on the surveillance screen above him displayed the forty-foot section of the perimeter fence of Patrol Zone One, void of any signs of a human presence. The small weather station beyond the fence stood partially lit and partially shadowed beneath the perimeter flood-lamps. The windsock above blew nearly horizontal in the wind. “Who?” Harkin's irritated voice came back. “Taylor,” Drake replied.
