Chapter 3

560 Words
25 years have passed since the Pailas joined the Rinjis........................for their lives, for the barrier's protection. The Iallum and Aarudha tribes also came under the Rinjis............... When the population of a place increases, the main concern would be food and accomodation. But the concern here is that the barrier protecting Parvath is weakening more rapidly with the increase in the attack of the iruls. The iruls became so strong that the Iange flower's effect on iruls also reduced considerably. If this went any further, then one day the barrier would fall and all would die. After Athikaa Rinji's death, Banmai became the chief. He fell in love with Adiban's third younger sister, Kulal, and after much opposition from both sides, they are finally engaged. With the frequency of irul's attacks increasing each month, more and more refugees from other smaller tribes can be seen entering Parvath. This only increased the number of people volunteering to fight the irul when it attacks, but the overall situation remains the same as no one had any good ideas for them to offer other than fighting with their body. The irul had not breached the barrier yet, so they are safe for now................... It was Banmai's pre-wedding party.................all the tribe elders and other tribe leaders attended it and congratulated Banmai and Kulal. They presented gifts and protective talismans for the couples..............the whole of Parvath had a feast, as it's not everyday you have a chief wedding going on................it was prepared in a grand manner as directed by Banmai so that the people of Parvath could enjoy it forgetting all about their pain..........it was especially prepared with the other tribes in mind as many were sad and lost after losing their loved ones, their land, their home and everything they held dear. Music ...........songs...........dance...........laughter.............delicious food...........colorful decorations.............the whole atmosphere was so great .the celebrations went for a whole day......... a day after the celebrations, Parvath had visitors from the Neyth tribe. The tribe that had the second strong barrier and the only tribe the Rinjis could have a trade with. They are a bit of a wild tribe.........they venture out of the barrier to fight the iruls voluntarily as a brave sport...............because of their brute nature many refugees who once went to the Neyths for protection, leaf them and came to the Rinjis. Information gathered about the Neyths from these refugees and the traders was that these Neyths were so daring that they regularly conducted the irul extermination operations was that they had the protection of a deity other than the one they are known to worship.............using this diety's protection after performing a certain ritual they gain a power temporarily to exterminate the irul. They use this power to open up a safe path for trading purpose as well. But they don't share this power with people outside the tribe, So people belonging to other tribes in Kadar have never felt this power, and thus they have never fought the irul. In Neyth, if you don't fight the irul, you will be discriminated against, but if you want to fight, they won't share the power. Most refugees were made to work as servant or slaves.......the worst was being used as bait for the irul.......... Such a tribe is now sending envoys to seek an audience with Banmai to talk about co-operation between the Parvath and Kadar.
