Episode 1: Reminiscing
The thought of putting my feet on the ground of the moon makes me feel amazing.
Mommy and I are watching the moon from our bedroom's window.
"Mommy, do you think I can go to the moon like Neil Armstrong?" I innocently asked the most beautiful woman I've ever seen
"No doubt, my love, just study hard. Always give your best shot and be true to yourself, I know you can reach the moon." mommy answered confidently
"Mommy, are you proud of me?" I asked her again
"Of course, son, I'm proud of you. You are still young. You have a lot to encounter, always remember to never give up. Mommy will be always right by your side, okay? When you feel like the world turns its back on you, know that mommy will never do that." she answered me like I can understand everything
"Mommy, I will promise to reach the moon and put the flag there with your name." I said and hugged her so tight
Daddy left us when I was still in mommy's womb. I was still five years old when mommy told me everything, now I am nine years old, still processing the thought of growing up without my father's care and love. I kinda get hurt because I know, I will face my journey without my dad saying, "son, I'm proud of you." or "son, you are the best give God gave me." daddy makes me question my worth sometimes but I should not be thinking like that because my mommy is here. She will always be here for me and I will always be here for her.
She kissed my forehead and hugged me back.
"You are smart, Lewis. Thank you for understanding our situation. I will promise you to give you a better tomorrow and a joyful today. We won't need daddy." she said as I fell asleep in her arms.
