It's the morning after Macy-Grace and Mason finally met. It still feels surreal. In Macy's mind, she's still dreaming. But in reality, her heart is rejoicing. Her mood a hundred times better. Making her way through the bustling street to the cafe, she's greeted with nods of good morning and smiles of the early working class human. It is moments like these that she appreciated her cafe. It gives her a sense of freedom and the opportunity to be herself. She's always resented working in an office building. Holding an eight to five job and struggling with reports for the boss. Being an owner and employer does have it's nasty moments, but in the end, the satisfaction overshadows the rest.
Approaching the cafe, she can see John at the counter. Busy being the perfect barista and gentleman. A group a young women is gathering to get their daily eye candy. Smiling, she enters and walks up to him behind the counter. "See you have a huge fan club going." She teases him. Her voice low enough for only him to hear, sending a shiver down his spine and making his heart stop. He gives her a sheepish smile, wishing to kiss her teasing lips.
She takes a mug and heads for the kitchen. Some tea will do for now. She' ll leave him at peace to get rid of the ladies, first.Watching her disappear into the kitchen, John appreciates the view. Her swaying hips, her long hair, just her presence is almost enough for him. Almost. In a sense he knows she is his, but he needs to make it more known. To ward off any possible and unwanted suitors. In the kitchen, Peter Drew is busy with orders. "Anything big today, Pete?" Macy asks as she waits for the water to boil. "Nah. Just Palmer and the g**g with their usual. Nothing I can't handle." He smirks while continuing with the sandwiches in front of him.."Okay. Call if you'll need anything. I'll be in the office." She says and leaves for the office. Sandra is at her post and tending the tables flawlessly. The morning rush nearly at an end.Since the news is out the she's Mason's little sister, the orders for the Palmer Corporation doubled. At times, Macy thinks it's a pack of wolves working there. Those guys can eat a whole ox if you'll let them. She still has to meet the Guys, as John calls them. She still notices the black SUV at times, but it is less that usual. Maybe because of the Black Dragons' constant movements in the area. Must be it. Sitting down behind her desk, she eyes the piles of paper. Admin is not on her favorites list. She begins with processing and fling. At least the business is doing better that expected. Thanks to devotion and hard work, the bottom line is not bad. She can keep up with all expenses and pay her employees, while she can put something away in case of emergencies.
Engrossed in the paper-war, she's unaware of the presence looming at the office door. "Hey, Mouse." Mason whispers, trying not to startle her, but failing in the attempt. Macy's heart is hammering in her chest as she whips around to see who is talking to her. "Mao, I didn't hear you entering. I nearly got a heart attach." She says, white as a sheet, breathing rapid. "Sorry about that. Didn't mean to frighten you." Mason says, sincerity in his voice. He didn't realize she was this nervous. That her anxiety was this high.
"It's nothing. What brings you to this side of town?" She says, a smile on her lips. Bouncing back like a champ. "A good cup of imported coffee and a proposal for my baby sister." Mason says with a smile, while taking in her tiny office space."Well, I hope you got the coffee. It's hard to not want a cup of my barista's coffee. He is the best around here. As for the proposal. I'm not going to sound desperate, but I am willing to listen to whatever you are saying." And be tough as nails. Mason smirks.
"I did get my coffee, thank you. As for the proposal. There is an open space at the Palmer Corporation with your name on, if you want it. I know a few contractors who will be more that willing to help with renovations. The space is yours to do with whatever you like, and it will be rent free, if I get a daily coffee on the house. Maybe lunch as well." He says, looking down at her where she is sitting. Good grieve, she's the blue print of their mother.
Macy chews the inside of her cheek. A habit she's picked up in university. Will a move do her business any good? Will the new allocation be appropriate? "Mason, thanks for the offer, but can I think about it. For a business like mine, picking up and moving is no easy task. There is a lot of factors I need to consider. I will get back to you. Will that by okay?" She asks, looking at him, noticing the disappointment. Her heart cringes to see him like this but he nods. At least she has business sense. "I will be waiting for your response then." He says and turns to leave."Mason, when can I meet Mama." She asks, pleading evident in her eyes. Mason takes a deep breath. "Soon, Mouse. I'll arrange everything. Will let you know, okay?" he says and Macy nods.
Her desire to meet her mother is busy consuming her being. Her heart is aching to meet the woman who gave her life. Mason kisses the top of her head and leaves the office without saying another word. Macy is left alone in her office, staring at her paperwork. The will to continue has left her. "Coffee?" John's velvet voice soothes her aching heart. Smiling, she looks to the doorway. His 1.9m frame filling the door frame. "Yes, please." She says, appreciating the sight in front of her. "Come on. I'll go and make you one. Looks like you need it." He says, giving her his dashing smile and making her knees go weak.
"What did Mason want?" He asks as they walk down the narrow hallway. She looks at his broad back, wondering if she should tell him. She can feel the tension radiate off John when Mason is in the area. Deciding to be honest, she takes a deep breath and bracing herself for his possible explosion. "He offered me a space at the Palmer Corporation building."
