Jared's POV.
I waited anxiously at home, my patience wearing thin as I wondered about the outcome of Sarah's visit to her real father's pack.
It was only natural for me to be concerned, but before I could stay on it any further, my phone rang, drawing my attention to the table where it lay.
I stared at the phone, knowing that the call could only be from Lucian. In a rush, I picked up the call.
"Hello, Alpha," Lucian's voice greeted me, but in the background, I could hear Sarah's voice, and it didn't sound like she was in a good state; it was more like she was screaming, asking for help.
My heart began to race, my eyes widening as I listened to what was happening. I had an unsettling feeling that something was seriously wrong, and worry instantly overwhelmed me.
