I didn't realize how far town was. I should have asked for water and food, but I wasn't thinking. My stomach was rumbling. I haven't eaten since breakfast, and it's way past dinner. I'm sure I'll find a stream or something around here, so I could get a drink. The longer I walked the more discouraged I felt. There was no water near by and I was starving. As the night dragged on, I grew more and more exhausted. Star has still not spoken to me, and I am worried about her. I walked for another few minutes, but I was so exhausted. I found a nice tree, laid down and soon fell asleep. I woke up to the sun shining on my face and hearing the birds chirping. Huh, a new day.  'Star, are you there?' I asked but she never responded. I'm starting to think I lost my wolf. I need to get up and start heading towards town, but I felt so weak. I use the tree to stand, and as I take my first step, I fell. Something is wrong with me, and I have no way to contact anyone for help. I slowly prop myself back up and use the tree to help me stay in a sitting position and drift back to sleep. I wake up to the sounds of feet running lots of them, and I know it's wolves but are they friendly or foe. I just lay there and wait for them to find me. They are getting closer and closer, and my heart is pounding. Soon I see a group of wolves come into my line of sight, and I hold my breath. So far, they are walking past me, but one of them stops and sniffs the air. f**k. The wolf turns around and looks at me, and my eyes go wide. He is an enormous black wolf with bright green eyes. He must be an alpha. He slowly walks towards me, and the remainder of the group stops and looks at us. I'm so scared, and a few tears run down my cheek, and the wolf in front of me licks my cheek. He nuzzles my neck, and I try to lift my arm, but I could barely lift it, and he notices. He steps back, and his bones begin to shift. He has tan skin, dark brown eyes, and long brown hair. He has abs that go on and on. I'm full-blown crying. 'Star, I need you. Please help me?' She still does not answer. "Who are you?" The naked man before me says. I try to open my mouth, but I can't. Tears are now in full force. I can't move to defend myself or talk. "I asked you a question. I demand an answer." He said after several seconds. I can see he is getting angry. One of the other wolves stepped forward and nuzzled his legs. The white wolf shifts, and a beautiful woman stood before me. "Alpha, I think she is hurt." "Why do you say that, Leah?" "She tried to lift her arm and couldn't, and she had to be walking at one point her shoes are worn." "Leah, since you are the healer, then please look her over." Leah was about 5'7 with ginger hair and green eyes. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. "I'm Leah, and you have nothing to fear. I'm a healer, and I'd like to look you over and ask a few questions. Blink twice if that is ok?" I blinked twice, and she smiled. "Are you a wolf shifter?" I blinked twice. "Do you have your wolf yet?" I blinked three times. "You have a wolf, but she is not there. Is this correct?" I blinked twice, and she frowned. "Has your wolf been gone more than a day?" I blinked twice, and she frowned more. She began to look me over and shook her head. "Alpha, she needs rest. She has been through a lot. We can not leave her here." No, they can not take me with them. I need to get to the town and the new pack. "Leah, she will slow us down." The alpha said. "If we leave her here, she will die, and she is a new wolf. I bet she hasn't even shifted. Please, love." The women begged. "Fine." He looked at me and said. "I'm Alpha Chase, and I'm going to pick you up and take you to my pack. My luna and I are going to take you to the pack hospital; they will help you." He picked me up and started walking. I fell asleep. I woke up to the sound of beeping and voices. "Chase, have you found anything out about the girl?" "Yes, former alpha Horsley reached out to me. Her name is Katherine, and she turned sixteen the day this all happened to her. His son rejected her, physically harmed her, and banished her. She was on her way to town to connect with the Blood Moon pack, but she never showed up in town. He began to call around to the local packs." "Well, that explains why she is so sick and about the bruises on her." "What do you mean?" "Well, her mate rejected her and harmed her. Then he banished her. Her wolf is hiding in fear inside her. She might lose her wolf for life if the wolf is scared of being hurt, and she might vanish." "Damn." I opened my eyes to look at them. "Star, please come out. I need you here with me. Please." Nothing. I looked up, and they are both looking at me. "How are you feeling?" Leah asked as she approached my bed. "I'm good. Is Star going to leave me forever?" "I'm not sure, Katherine, but we can help you heal." "Can I see my dad or talk to him?" "Of course, Katherine," Alpha Chase said. "Thank you." "You did not deserve what happened to you," Leah said. It has been six months since I joined the Black moon pack, and life has been great. Alpha Chase and Luna Leah have been trying to help me get my wolf back, but Star still has not returned. My dad and Kelly came to visit, and they even got mated, which is excellent. They videoed it for me since I could not be there. Everything seems great, and I couldn't be happier. I noticed people running around and stopped one of the teens. "what is going on." "Rogues are attacking at the southern border. We must get to the packhouse." We both ran towards the packhouse, and all of a sudden, a big red wolf jumps in front of us and shifts. "You go, but you, you are mine."
