Last day before rebirth
"Robert, Robert! Please stay with me, come on! Come on heal yourself. I need you. I'm sorry, I can't do this without you."
Sophia kept pressing on Roberts' wounds, trying to stop blood flow, whilst encouraging Robert to start healing his wounds.
Robert just kept looking towards Sophia with his signature goofy grin, enjoying the attention he was getting from her.
He knew that he had used up all his energy and was not going to last much longer.
He had used most of his remaining strength to heal his beloved Sophia his sunshine in the hopes she could keep going.
What Sophia did not know or possibly remember, but ten years ago, Robert was planning on killing himself after losing his mum and dad to a fatal car accident.
Whilst visiting his parents' grave for the final time before he ended his life, he heard the most beautiful voice.
Looking up to see where the voice was coming from, he was stunned by a teenage girl tending to what looked like her own parents' grave. Not much younger than himself.
Creeping up closer to hear about how much she missed them and that she was trying hard to remain positive and, even though she was still living with her aunt and uncle, who were making loads of demands and moaning it was expensive to look after her, she was officially family, so they could not say no. Her words and determination to make her parents proud, made Robert change his mind about ending it all. From then till now, whenever he felt lost or low, he would think about that time and feel the warmth spread through him just like the sunshine after the rain on your skin. So Sophie was secretly his sunshine from then on.
Sophia kept pressing and internally screaming at herself for her stupidity, for everything leading to herself and Robert hiding in the ruins, avoiding the shots being fired at them from the people she once thought of as her friends and her "true love", scoffing at her stupidity again for thinking it was Patrick that saved her at the beginning of the apocalypse, when it was in fact Robert who was the one that saved her.
Feeling Robert looking at her, Sophia pressed onto the largest wound and looked at him and listened to what he was saying. Robert whispered "I love you, don't give up, please keep going. You are my sunshine"
No, no, no, don't you dare f**King, leave me Robert. Please, I need you. I can't do this alone.
For the last few weeks, Sophia and Robert have been watching out for each other away from the safe zone, because her 'sister' stole her jade necklace which contained her magical space that the team kept and stored all their supplies.
Only herself and Chloe that backstabbing piece of.... could enter, until Chloe stole it and claimed she was the new owner. She claimed that by killing Sophia everyone could enjoy the safety of the necklace, and it was Sophia being selfish for not allowing others in.
Apart from Robert, everyone else stood at Chloe's side and started using their powers against her. Robert grabbed hold of Sophia and, using his shielding powers, helped her escape the attack.
For the last 3 weeks, they have been trying to gather supplies, avoid zombies and, worse of all, fellow humans and ex-teammates to travel towards another safe zone. Finally, after gathering enough, they started to head out, only to be ambushed by her old team.
So lost in her thoughts and grief from losing Robert, she never noticed Patrick with an evil grin looking at the two of them. Raising his arms and shooting lightning at her, ending her current life.
Patrick turned around leaving the chard remains of the foolish Sophia and mumbling to himself the pity of losing Robert. He was a rare healer and barrier creator who helped his team out on many occasions.
Thankfully, with at least Sophia dead, Chloe could take full control of the necklace and everyone could hide in it when needed, so he was not much of a loss.
Patrick returned to where the rest of the team were waiting to tell them the good news.
However, the celebration was short-lived. Chloe felt triumphant and finally got the necklace away from Sophia and was the savior to the team. Chloe copied what she had seen Sophia do on numerous occasions but nothing happened. Feeling all eyes on her, she panicked and tried again. When nothing happened again, she asked Patrick, did he really kill Sophia and not let her go, as everyone knew that Sophia loved him deeply because he 'saved' her. Patrick, enraged at the accusations, sent a bolt of lightning to Chloe's feet and said," I. Killed her, but maybe I killed the wrong sister." Trying not to show obvious panic, Chloe tried calling out the booklet that she hid from Sophia at the beginning. Nothing. She tried calling out different things from space. Still nothing, by now the team realized something wasn't right. Chloe, becoming very scared, tried to run away. But Patrick was enraged at being duped. Everyone at the same time now knew Chloe had lied. Not only had they betrayed Sophia, who was nothing but kind to them all, they killed her and Robert, who was a healer and could shield them for short periods of time. All of ther belongings were lost in 'space' as Chloe turned to flee, Patrick shot at her with lightning, and several other teammates fired at her too. Her ending matched what Sophia experienced. Sadly for the team, the commotion gathered a zombie hoard. Left with nothing, they soon fell to the relentless hunger of the zombies. Regret was too late for them all.
