CHAPTER NINE Remi rubbed her tired eyes. She didn’t know how long she had been at it. Brother Lucco had been kind enough to stay and had gone to a back room in the church upstairs to stretch out on a sofa and doze. That left her alone in the cold cellar, hunched over medieval texts.
