At the palace, Adora walked gracefully towards the secret room where Dorian was held with a wicked glint on her face, she had rushed back when she found out what her master had done to him, finally, she could keep him under control,
“Look who is having the best night of his night there," she said sarcastically, on hearing her voice, Dorian who was curled in a ball in the room quickly move closer to the door,
“Adora! Adora! you are here, save me quickly go and help me plead to master," he pleaded,
“Ah! ah, senior are you mocking me? a little nothing like me can't plead to master, even if I summon the courage to do so, do you think he will heed ears to my words,"
“Adora, y-you... what do you want?"
“Now you are talking, you know what I want Dorian,"
“No! never," he refused blatantly, Adora stood at the door for a moment, quietly contemplating she knew he would not give it up that easily, after all, who would want to lose such an ancient treasure, she guess he needed more time in the room before he broke finally,
“Well, I guess with your ability staying in the room is just a piece of cake, after all, you are the almighty general Dorian, I shall leave you to it," she said and turn to leave,
“N-no, no don't leave, I-i agree, please save me, if I stay any longer than I have to, I will die," Dorian pleaded, immediately Adora turn back with a sly smile on her face,
“You made the right choice senior, tell me the location and I will plead to master for you, for the main time use this," she said and threw him a parcel and began to walk back with her thoughts on Magnus, she will have to deal with him one way or the other, there's no way she's letting him have the last laugh, even though she wanted Dorian gone too, but she'd still prefer him over Magnus, it was just a matter of time till she gains her master's favor with the help of her newly owned treasure, she thought to her self with a triumphant smile on her face.

On getting home, Derek saw Marie waiting outside in the cold, pacing around with worry written all over her face, she lifted her head and spotted him, immediately she ran towards him with a worried expression on her face,
“Are you alright? where have you been? I've been so worried, you have no idea how angry mother is," she rushed out,
“I'm sorry Marie, Derek answered with a sad smile; I had an errand to run," he lied,
"Couldn't it wait," she whispered and poked him in the chest,
“Do you know how worried everyone was? father almost went out to look for you and because of you, dinner was delayed and you know how mother feels about it," she scolded once again,
“I know, come on, let get you inside you're freezing," he said as he pushed her in.
On getting inside, Derek could feel the temperature in the room drop down to a notch, his mother was sitting on a stool with her legs crossed, she was fuming and you could literally steam coming out of her ears as she stares intensively at him,
“Mother I'm home," Derek said, on hearing his voice, she closed her eyes and Derek could see the nervous look on everyone's face, she looked like she was about to explode: everyone knew Kate's anger was not a sight to see so they were always wary of things they say or do in front of her,
“Where have you been?" she said in a dangerously low voice,
“I-i..." Derek stammered as he was unable to form any word with the way his mother was glaring at him, immediately everyone shifted their eyes to Marie: she was the only one who could calm her down now,
“Um, mother calm down," she said, immediately moving closer to give her a shoulder massage,
“Derek just went on an errand master Fung sent him, isn't that right Derek?"
"Yes, yes," they chorused and laughed sheepishly,
“And why am I just hearing about such errand?" she questioned, opening her eyes,
“He told me," Logan butts in, immediately she turned to face him, flashing him an angry look;
“What! and you let him go, isn't it enough that you let him go to that useless fraudster to learn instead of him staying home and work to feed the family,"
“I-i..."Logan began to stutter, he was always scared of his wife's wrath, seeing as her father was stuck in the mud, Marie quickly butts in,
“Mother, Derek going to master Fung's place was not a waste, he saved me remember, he was so brave out there; I know you are worried because we are in a perilous time especially since Gardenia was just attacked, b-but he can protect himself and us from those monsters now,"
“Yes aunt Katie, Toby quickly countered, winking at Jake,"
“We can both protect everyone now, it's because you haven't seen him fight that's why you are underestimating him, right everyone?"
“Yes, yes," they all nodded frantically, although they did not agree with Toby about him protecting anyone,
“Look at you all, nodding your heads as if you have seen him fight, and you! I told you to stop calling Katie," she yelled,
"Mother it doesn't matter, after all, he's back and safe that's what matters," Marie said,
“Okay, okay! get off me, can't I even scold my son again," she said as she stands up and clears her throat after seeing that being angry was now pointless,
“You only know how to talk well, out of my way," she shouted, immediately they parted ways for her as she walked back to the kitchen, everyone continue to stare at her but did not move, Jake then whispered,
“Do you think it worked?"
“Don't know," Toby answered,
“Quit whispering and help me with dinner," she yelled, immediately they all scattered and return to their different post.
After dinner, everyone went to their respective rooms, Derek sneaked out of the house and went to the shore near their home; it was the most beautiful place he had ever known, even though it's been years, it was still as beautiful as ever: he never came back after his grandfather died.
He inhales deeply as he pulled his coat closer to his body, his boots brushing against the sand as he stood for a while and listened to the waves, he slowly began to make his way closer to the ocean and fell to his knees, as the feeling of emptiness slowly find its way to his heart, he looked ahead and stare at the ocean, it looked as if it was reflecting the fire that was about to be ignited in his heart, he stood up and start to follow the fight routine his grandfather taught him while he was alive, he could hear his voice echoing across the sea as he spoke, Derek expressed all the despair he felt through the movement of his feet and every sound his hand made as he battled with the wind, suddenly he heard a loud crash, only then did he notice the presence of a box that washed off to the shore, in an instant, the box opened and something flew out of it and rush towards him at the speed of light: It had a golden light around it, immediately Derek prepared himself for the attack, but suddenly it speed past him and he unconsciously grabbed it edge and crash into a tree.
A few minutes later, Derek slowly peel his eyes open and groaned in pain, he then looked at the object in his hand and realized it was a sword, he discovered it was no ordinary sword, and as a son of a blacksmith, he knew well enough about swords, the carving and the lines were made specially and he had never seen anything like it, then he noticed the symbol on the sword and realization dawned on him; it was the mark he saw, immediately he felt a burn on his forehead and he dropped the sword as he screamed in pain, he closed his eyes and the sword starts to glow again, it had recognized him, he grabbed the sword unconsciously and his eyes flew open, looking around, he realized he was no longer at the shore, he began to wonder about where he was, he tried to move forward only then did he noticed he was floating on air,
“Is anyone here?" he shouted only for his voice to be welcomed by his echoes, he moved around and try to touch the walls only to touch pure air, suddenly he heard a voice,
“Hello Derek," he turned to see a figure coming in through a door of where he concluded to be a magical space, and as the figure got closer, then he recognizes the person to be his grandfather,
“Grandpa," he shouted and moved closer to hug him only to pass through his form,
“Don't be ridiculous boy, I'm not alive you are only seeing me because the sword is protecting my spirit," his grandfather retorted,
Derek watch in amazement, his grandfather was the same as he remembered him, a man with great humor and a funny-looking beard; "How have you been doing boy? seeing you are here, it means you found the sword aye,"
"Yes grandfather," he answered with a low voice,
“What's wrong boy?"
“Grandpa what if I fail? I'm just human with no special power, how can the fate of the seven kingdoms depend on me,"
"Listen, Derek, you must not and will not fail, the sword chose you for a reason, even if you don't see it now, you will one day, believe me," his grandfather said and paused,
“Derek, I'd kill to be the chosen one but unfortunately, I'm not you, it's a great opportunity for you to make the family proud and prove your worth, I know the burden must be hard for you to bear, but in here I see a brave and strong man," he said and try to make his point by pointing to his heart,
“Wow, grandpa that's the most knowledgeable things I've ever heard you say,"
“I know," he said, then the door he came from opened again,
“Time's up, I must go now," he said as he walked to the door,
“One more thing Derek, you are..." and the door closed.
Derek drifted back to reality and kept wondering what his grandfather was about to say.
