“Yes, Larry Parker, he's one of our lift attendants.” Mr Jenkins thought for a moment. “Why do you mention him?”
“You don't have any other member of staff called Larry?” Alan persisted. “Not even someone who might prefer to be called Laurence?”
“No. I assure you, we only have one person named Larry, Laurence or any other variation of the name, on our staff – Larry Parker.” Mr Jenkins looked puzzled. “Look, where is this going? What on earth has our lift attendant got to do with the attack on Miss Matthews?”
