Chapter Thirty-EightAgnes stood a few feet away from the hotel entrance to get her breath back before walking inside. Before leaving the café, it had crossed her mind to ring Alan. But, after looking at her watch, she had dismissed the idea. He would be arriving shortly, anyway. Not having heard anything to the contrary, she assumed he was free to pick her up before they headed off to view the apartment. She took a deep breath and made her way into the hotel. While standing outside, she had decided to go up to her room and collect her jacket, then come back down to wait in the sitting room until Alan arrived.
