CHAPTER THREE

“Yexa can help us, too,” the woman with a gentle look on her face said.

Everyone looked at me.

“How can she help us? Unless she’s a fairy-like me who can do the disguise ability.” Morgana said sarcastically.

“That’s right!” Diomedes tapped his finger and looked at me with a smile. “Yexa can copy Morgana’s ability. In that way, Morgana doesn’t have to use all her strength for us.”

“No way!” Morgana strongly objected to what Diomedes said and looked at him sharply. 

I remained silent and did not participate in their argument. I already knew Morgana would not agree to that suggestion. This is why I didn’t say anything even before. 

I had a feeling that Morgana is angry about what I had done earlier, and she was unhappy about putting herself in shame.

“We don’t have any choice. You can’t do to all of us your ability. Or, if you can, there is little chance that we will succeed in this mission, and there is a possibility that they will harm some of us. Will you take that risk, Morgana?” Zane said. He narrowed his eyes, even more when he looked intently at Morgana. 

Morgana was speechless. She knew what Zane wanted to convey. Her ability to disguise is not too powerful due to her half-vampire blood. Even though her fairy mother was in a higher class, her vampire father was not strong enough to make matters worse. She was only in the middle-class society and a second-generation vampire, not like Zane. I tilt my head as I read the thoughts of Morgana.

She glared at her. ‘What does this woman have that she can able to copy the power of others?’ Morgana mutters to herself.

She never heard of that ability in her entire life. She was not convinced by what her father Britton has said about how she can imitate and modify things more dangerous and lethal. If that’s what she can do, why is she becoming Moonchaser only by now? Shouldn’t she be ahead of them?

“Morgana, Zane is right,” Honchos said.

“But Chief, how can we be so sure that she can copy my ability? You never tried it before, didn’t you?” Morgana turned to me.

“Why don’t we try it?” I said, provoking Morgana. “Hm, how about you activate your ability, and let’s hold hands. Let’s see if it works.”

“No! I won’t allow that! What if you want to copy my ability and use it against me?” she said in a firm voice.

“And why would I do that?” I asked her, raising my brows.

“To exact your revenge for what I did to your father. You know that disguising yourself is an effortless way to conduct your revenge. And I will not allow that to happen,” she foolishly replied.

“You’re too confident of what you’re saying, do you?” I laughed and looked at her sarcastically. “If I want to take revenge on you, I don’t need your ability anymore. I can cripple you or break your bone in an instant.”

“You, b***h!” she was about to kick me when the Honchos intervened and dropped his hand on the table.

“Enough! How can you do this mission if you do not get along? You’re here as a team. Remember that!”

Morgana did nothing but curb her anger, and I can’t hold the sinister smile on my lips. I don’t know what happened, but I can read her thoughts.

“Morgana, let her copy your disguise ability. End of discussion! You only have twenty-four hours to discuss and extract the disguise ability to each of them,” Honchos said authoritatively. “Yexa, you are now the leader of the Moonchasers. Don’t forget that you promised to be a good leader.

“Yes, Chief,” I politely replied. “Morgana, shall we?” I turned to her with an approachable look.

“How can I be so sure you can only copy one of my abilities? Maybe--”

“As long as you only activate your disguise ability, I will not be able to copy your other powers. I can only copy the ability of a person if it is activated,” I replied promptly.

She took a deep breath.

“Alright, even if I don’t like this idea. I don’t have a damn choice,” Morganna said helplessly. 

Our meeting ended with Morgana agreeing to what Honchos wanted to happen. I know that it is still against Morgana’s will, but she can’t do anything because of her limited abilities. 

We proceeded to the training ground located on the fifth floor of the Institute. The training ground was made only for the Moonchasers, and no one could use it and enter. I was no longer with my father. He decided to go home and take care of something else.

While walking to the training ground, my co-warriors introduced themselves.

The man that Morgana called Zane earlier was a half-blood vampire and a half-white witch. His father came from the first family of powerful vampires around the world. His mother is one of the descendants of the Warrior White Witches. He can make powerful magic that can manipulate new vampires, and he can also make devices through a spell and can use in undercovers such as shields, a tool used for communications, and locations. Zane makes all the devices the Moonchasers use in every mission they undertake. 

Astrid Ballari is the firstborn woman with a half-blood vampire and a half-blood wolf. Her father was the former leader of the most potent pack around the world, and she let her brother be the leader of the pack while she stayed at home with her mother. Not for too long, because she chooses to be a Moonchaser. Her mother is a half-blood vampire and a half-blood fairy, but she did not get all the fairy’s abilities because her mother was not a pure fairy. The only skill she acquired in being a fairy was the ability to communicate with animals and plants. She can also use any tree and plant as a weapon. Even the wild animals in the forest can subdue it. When it comes to strength and agility, she’ll never get behind too.

Geof Frey, the quietest of all the Moonchasers. A half-blood wolf and half-blood warlock. His father is one of the high-class Warlock in Conclave, but they say that he did not have the power of his father and only had the ability of a mighty wolf who can kill any beast in just a second. Others may not see that, but for me, Geof’s agility and super strength come from the power he inherited from his father. It does not just discover yet, because the whole idea is caused by being a wolf.

Diomedes Eilif is a half-blood vampire and a half-blood wolf. He’s not like Astrid, who has a blood of a fairy. He is a pure-blood mixture of a vampire and a wolf. He is the only wolf with vampire blood that can transform into a wolf, but its eyes have a strange color that he obtained by having vampire blood. His Encanto ability can make any magical beast follow his command. He can rule all the magical creatures in the forest if he just wanted to.

Morgana La Fee, the powerful enchantress, is living in the world. A half-blood fairy and a half-blood white vampire. She can lure anyone into her trap by using the Encanto ability and kill them with her natural ability. She can summon every living creature in the forest, and because nature is on her side, she produces poisons effortlessly.
