Kilo I heard a knock at the door as I walked down the stairs. Expecting the repairman, I jogged through the living room. Unlocking it, a suspicious-looking stocky, light-skinned guy asked for me by name. Standing in the doorway with a baffled look, I recognized him from the security booth at Keisha’s job. “You look familiar. I recognize you from somewhere? I said, acknowledging him, as he looked down at me with his spooky greenish eyes. As he replied no, I stepped further into the house. I’m expecting the repair man. I don’t have time to f**k off with you.” Closing the door, he forcibly bursts in. Backing up, he rushes toward me and grips me by my throat and attempts to overpower me. I impulsively struck him in the face several times while jumping. With his hands around my throat, his grip tightened as he elevated me from my feet. With force, he rams me onto the coffee table. Causing it to collapse with one swift motion of him pulling out his pistol. I lifted my knees to block his aim. Sneakily reaching for a leg from the broken furniture, he stands over me with an airy stare. Tightly gripping the leg, I took a swing. Clutching it in mid-stride, he slings it across the living room. Thinking that tall people must have some sort of divine strength, he pushes the gun to my forehead. “Look, we can handle this s**t like men? Are, I’ll air this b***h out? The choice is yours.” He says as he forcibly places the pistol to my nose as I shift my head from side to side. Breathing heavily, with my face forced to the floor with the pistol to my right jaw. I gave up and threw up both of my hands. Excruciating pain strikes me as I try to pull myself up. “Okay, okay,” I said nervously, sitting up. Demanding me for my name, he snatched my neck. Presenting him with my name, he jerks me up from the floor by the neck of my shirt. With my hands up, I stumble over myself as he continues to nudge me until we got out the door. With the gun at the back of my head, I thought of running. But I couldn’t do to I'm severely injured. He unlocked the passenger’s door and commanded me to get in. As hesitant as I am, he tucks the pistol on his side and forces me in. Informing me that thieves never prosper. I thought about what Toot informed me about this Kandi chick, that people disappearing on her land. Knowing I hadn’t stolen from her and no one had informed me of her and Eric being an acquaintance. Therefore, Eric is the one that wants me dead. In conclusion, he creeps up the road. As he’s on the phone, I overhear him instruct someone to arrive at my address for some sort of clean-up. Panicking, looking around the truck for something I could use as a weapon. He grips me and directs me around. “You’re going to sit silently and look forward. Or I’ll put your ass to sleep till we get to where we are going?” he says, looking over at me as he sits up in his seat. “My bad,” I said, shifting only my eyes to glance in the back seat behind him. The car swerves off the road as he strikes me. My head bangs against the window from the power of his punch. Feeling like my jaw was out of place, I was sitting leaned against the window. Clenching my jaw, blood spews from my mouth. Giving into the torment, my body screamed in pain as I pondered why he wants me alive. Looking over at him, I instantly shield my face as he draws back and flitches at me. Glancing out the window, I’m leaned against it for an hour. I become frantic as I notice the stone wall to Kandi Land coming up. Sitting up with my heart beating in my ears, I beg for my life. Turning on the dirt road on Kandi Lane, he ordered me to shut up. Speeding past the security booth, he pulled in front of the building. He quickly gets out and rushes over to me. Slinging open the door, he pries me out. Limping as he snatches my arm, I trip over the high sidewalk in front of the building. Holding open one of the double glass doors, I became amazed by the décor. Slinging me into a chair in the waiting room, I tracked him, walking over to a woman standing in the middle of the foyer. Passing him a white t-shirt, he commanded me to take off my bloody shirt. The lady walks through the white and gold double doors that lead to another foyer. And the man went up the split stairs from the waiting area. Looking around the foyer and waiting room for some clue about who these people are. I didn't come across anything, not even a magazine. Leaping over to a narrow bar sitting in a corner, I noticed a shadowy finger standing on the balcony. Not knowing if it’s a man or a woman, I back up into the waiting area. Observing the women in baggie jeans and boxers and tight shirt, I knew she wasn’t the one in charge. I was shocked by her addressing me with what I was looking for in a gentle but yet demanding voice. Her long, jet-black hair flows in the air as she quickly turns to the left and walks down the hall. Informing me to follow her into her office, I going up the stairs griping the gold reeling. Entering the office, she commands me to take a seat in front of her desk. Admiring all the luxurious items around her office, I thought Kandi must be in her bag. “From the look on your face, I take it as you don’t recall who I am?” “I don’t,” I said nervously. Patiently waiting as she flipped through a red book, I suspected that she was a gangster with the baggy jeans. But, yet feminine do to she got on makeup and has long hair. With a nice sized breast, so I knew she couldn’t be a man. Therefore, I thought maybe I could finesse my way out of here. “I know that you're affiliated with the Rude Boys. And your gang and the Go Gang have been rivals for years.” “Yeah, but what that got to do with this visit?” With my heart beating out of my chest, I looked back at the door. She gets up and walks behind me. Massaging my shoulders, she gently directed me to the back of the chair. While saying that she can order me a skilled masseuse. If that would make me more comfortable. Denying the massage, she caressed my back while saying she hoped that the massage was relaxing. I replied yes as she took a seat in the chair next to me. “Kilo, I advance you to lesson closely. You currently work for Kandi Land Enterprise. I know you don’t recognize me and I know I appear crazy. Therefore, I’m going to make you more comfortable. She says, rubbing my knee. The black Tahoe you pulled up in is yours. The paper work is in the glove compartment and if you get pulled over a list of Kandi Land Enterprises emergency contacts or also in there. Let's not forget all the damage to your home is being repaired, including a few remodeling and lawn services. Is being done as we speak.” Feeling relieved but yet confused. I ask why she felt she had to do all of this. Removing her hand from my knee, she gets up. Thinking that this is a place for giants, cause she’s the second person over six feet associated with this place. Dramatically turning around, the hair rubs across my face. Spiting hair out of my mouth, I looked up at her. “Well, you stole over a million dollars. I thought you needed more. She says sarcastically, walking behind her desk. And in return, you work for Kandi Land Enterprises.” “What kind of work?” “Can you mix drinks? Replying yes, she got on the intercom and asked for Bambi. Bambi is another one of my gifts to you. And she can get you acquainted with the place. Here's the keys.” Slinging them to me, I requested her name. She giggles as a lady walks in. This is Bambi. Bambi, this is Kilo, make sure he feels at home. Getting up from the chair, I walked over to Bambi. Attracted to her beauty, I forgot about the kidnapping.
