Jessica and Landon arrived at the house in record time. Ana was a sobbing mess, crumpled on the grass outside, wings still extended. She could not bring herself to reenter the home after hearing what she left her fated to deal with on his own. Despite knowing her decision to check on Eva would not have changed, her heart ached with remorse for not being there to support her fiance.
