Prologue
“I’m really curious about something.” Nakatingin siya saakin at taimtim na binabasa ang mga iniisip ko. She’s reading me through my eyes.
“What is it now, Jashea?” I asked.
“What was that?” I looked at the other direction.
“What was what?” I tried to conceal my emotions. This isn’t the right time to show her that there was something important that she needs to know.
“What did you see in that classroom? What was it at napahinto ka talaga nang makita mo ‘yon?”
“That was nothing. Siguro ay guniguni mo lang ‘yung nakita—“
“No it wasn’t just my imagination. You saw something. At alam ko na hindi ka madaling nagkakaroon ng interes sa mga bagay unless,” She paused and leaned closer to me. “It’s a guy.”
For so many years, I’ve tried to live differently. I tried to do what my parents want me to do. I have always been afraid of what might the society think of me. But now, I guess it’s time to try something new. Oras na atang magpakatotoo ako.
