Chapter Thirty-Two As Ash’s rough hands fumbled over Wolk’s body in the dark, trying to feel for a wound, he heard someone approaching. Quietly, he unslung his rifle and took cover. c*****g his head to the side to detect any noise, he confirmed the sound was coming from the direction of the Canadian lines. This did not mean he was out of danger, though, as the experienced soldier was aware trench raiders had learned a long time ago that the safest way to approach such outlying posts was from their own lines.
