Seal of Solomon
Skylar's Point of View:
Starlet stood motionless in the woods, her eyes glued on the item on the ground in front of her. Her mouth became dry the second she realized what it was.
The small droplets of rain in the sky had quickened, and soon heavy rain began pouring down on her. Her surroundings darkened from the storm and the air quickly became chilly, the calm weather changing drastically. But Starlet didn't seem to notice, her wide eyes were still silently trained on the small, round item.
'That's it...' she thought quietly to herself. 'That's the Seal of Solomon... But why isn't it with Caroline?' Just as she thought this, an image of Leo's face popped into Scarlet's mind.
She recalled Leo's suspicious behaviors, how he would disappear during the most inconvenient times. How he would always do and say the oddest things. Starlet's heart pounded, and she was finding it more and more difficult to breathe.
'That's right,' she thought. 'Where DID that boy come from?' No one seemed to have even questioned anything the day that Leo Thomas suddenly appeared at Jefferson High. And then when he started clinging on to Caroline, not knowing anything about her, was that really just a coincidence??
Caroline wasn't very pretty or popular. Don't get her wrong- Starlet loved Caroline with all her heart. Caroline was a sweet, amazing friend but she was pretty normal for a High School girl. She blended in really well and would have been difficult to pull out of a crowd.
Starlet's heart quickened as she slowly began to put two and two together. Just then, she heard a distant, high-pitched scream echoing through the woods and her blood froze.
She quickly bent down and snatched up the ring. Lightning crashed above her; it was really close. 'That was Caroline,' she thought frantically. 'I've got to get out of here!'
Another flash of lightning formed through the sky and Starlet could have sworn that she saw Leo standing only a few feet away, a crazed smile formed on his face.
Thunder roared and Starlet went running towards the closest portal, hoping that she could reach it on time before it closes. It was her only safety right now. She HAD to get the ring to the portal, no mater what... or who knows what Leo would do with this kind of power?
