Rose's Point of View:
It wasn't until I already had Lilith in bed and was climbing in myself when I finally realized what I had done. 's**t!' I cursed. 'I'm defiantly gonna die now!' I lay on the bed, twisting and turning, trying to get the awful thought out of my head. 'I'm gonna die... I'm gonna die... I'm gonna die... I need to pee. s**t!'
I glanced over at the alarm clock and read 2 A.M. Sighing, I pulled myself out of bed and dragged myself to the door. I opened it slightly before I paused, a thought passing through my head. 'Leo wants me dead,' I thought. 'So I probably shouldn't just wander around in the dead of night. I'd be an easy target.'
I closed my eyes, exhausted, and slowly dropped my hand from the doorknob, my recent thoughts echoing through my head like a lullabye rocking me to sleep.
'I'm gonna die... I'm gonna die... I'm gonna di - I still need to pee.' Sighing angrily, I looked around the semi-dark room and spotted a pink plastic toy bat leaning up against the closet door. I picked it up, spinning it in my hands.
"This'll work for now," I said groggily before leaving the room. If I was attacked, at least I could hit him with a bat and run. Luckily for me though, I was able to pee in peace.
The bathroom was all the way on the first floor since the bathroom upstairs didn't work. When I returned upstairs, I noticed that the bedroom door was open and I tightened my grip on the little bat. Did I leave it open when I came out? Swallowing hard, I snuck into the room and saw a large shadow lurking over Lilith's bed. It stared down at her, holding something that looked like a weapon in his hands.
'Oh hell no!' I thought before running at him and swinging the bat hard into the back of his head. Leo collapsed to the floor with a thud, blacking out from the hit. It was so dramatic that I had to kneel down next to him to see if he was still breathing. He was.
I climbed back to my feet, sighing in relief. 'I've got to get him away from here,’ I thought. ‘And away from Lilith.’ I spotted a little red wagon at the foot of Lilith’s bed and nodded. This will work as well.
I struggled to lift Leo up on the wagon and drag him out the door into the cold night, my mind reeling. ‘I’ve got to get him out of here,’ I told myself again, looking around my surroundings. My eyes stopped at the tall, thick gates that encircled the entrance of the woods. ‘The woods,’ I finally decided.
