Olivia bit her lips, avoiding his gaze. "Uhm.... I - I.... Yes I slammed my face on the door when I was.... Uhm, I was trying to rush out, you know, steel door hurts pretty bad." she stammers and smiles, trying to look alright and happy.

"You know that I know when you're lying. You never look straight in the eyes when you lie." he says and Olivia nearly faints.

She forgot that it is easy to detect when she's lying because she never looks straight in the eyes when she's lying. She sighs heavily, then looks at him in the eye with a straight face.

" I am not lying. You can ask Wayne tomorrow." she says, looking convincing.

"Fine," Jason gives up and looks away while she continues eating. When she was done, she cleared the dishes before leaving.

Jason wakes up when his phone buzz with a notification. He picks it up and checks it. A message from an unknown number.

'meet me at our favorite spot, Nessa.'

He sits up immediately, his eyes widening with surprise. Did he just get a text from her?

'what time?' he texts back and boom, she replied immediately.

'in the evening by five, is that okay?'

'yes'

'alright, I'll be expecting you there. Have a nice day. '

'you too'

Jason's brain literally exploded as he read the text messages over and over again. Vanessa texted him! She wants to see him!

His heart beats faster, could this be one more chance?

Jason arrived at work looking pale and nervous. Wayne and Olivia looked at him worriedly.

"Yo man, what's wrong with you?" Wayne asks him.

"Nothing much, just that Vanessa texted me this morning and she said that she wanted to see me later this evening." Jason replies.

Olivia explodes in anger. "That socialite witch again? Hasn't she done enough horrible things to you already. What does she want to do now, kill you?"

Jason tries to calm her down. "Calm down, Vy.... Nothing is going to happen to me, okay?"

"The last time you said such, you ended up being beaten up. Remember what you promised me." she said in a sad tone.

She looks really hurt but Jason was busy fantasizing about how to meet Vanessa that he didn't notice it.

"I know I promised you not to see her again, Vy. But I need to at least find out what she wants. I'll be fine, okay?" he said reassuringly.

Olivia nods and looks at Wayne, who is standing behind Jason. He gave her a sign that he was going to talk and she blinks her eyes repeatedly.

" What? What's wrong with you two? "Jason asks them, looking at the duo who were suddenly acting weird.

" Urghh, it's nothing at all. "Wayne smiled at him.

Later that evening, Jason dressed up casually to meet Vanessa again. His heart was beating fast because in truth, he couldn't predict Vanessa's character.

Again, Olivia sprays perfume on him so he smells nice. Before leaving, he checked himself a few times to confirm that he looks okay.

When he got to their favorite spot, he saw Vanessa already there, sobbing quietly.

"Nessa? What's wrong with you?" he asks as he placed his hands gently and carefully on her shoulder.

"Jason!" she says and stands up. She hugs him tightly and his face looks shocked. "I'm so sorry for what I did to you!" she cries louder.

Jason calms her down and then sits her down. He wipes her tears with his finger. "You don't have to be sorry - -" he tries to say but she shakes her head and interrupts him.

"No, no don't say that. I'm really sorry. I've been waiting for you to return ever since the day you left and now you came back, I pushed you away in the most horrible way. I thought I would get over you but it's not working.... I still want you close to me like before. "she said with her head down.

" You don't have to apologize for anything. "he said pulling her in another tight hug.

" So are we good? "he asked when they broke free of their hug.

She blushes and nods." Yeah, good friends. "they both chuckle and her phone buzzes. Checking it, she frowns her face." I have to go now. "she says suddenly.

Jason raised his eyebrows at her." Right now? "

She nods and gets up. She pecks him on his cheek." We'll hang out later. I've got something important to attend to. And your perfume smells nice. "she compliments and winks at him before leaving.

Jason stares at her as she walked away. She has finally come back to her senses. He smiles and ruffles his hair. This is a very good start for him, for the both of them.
