TWELVE

Jason hums excitedly while washing the dishes. Wayne and Olivia eye him peculiarly.

"You being alive today after meeting with Vanessa means that it was a success, right?." Wayne teases him. Jason chuckles lightly.

"You wouldn't believe it but she actually called to apologize for what she did." he replies.

Olivia scoffs. "The socialite witch now feels sorry for what she did to you and lemme guess - you two are now dating." she said sarcastically.

"Not yet, we're just.... Friends." Jason mumbles.

"Wow, congratulations bro. You've made it this far." Wayne says, crossing his arm over Jason's shoulder.

The two guys smile at each other oblivious of the slight look of anger on Olivia's face.

Vanessa stomps into her office with anger written all over her face, accompanied by Natasha and Daniel.

"Is this some sort of a joke? Caden being general manager? I can't believe this!" Vanessa huffs in anger.

"I'm even surprised some useless managers supported him to be CEO, someone who barely knows anything about the company." Natasha mumbles.

"I know he's trying to use all means to have the company for himself. That cunning bastard." Vanessa cussed.

The door suddenly flung open and Caden majestically walks in like a new crowned king. Both Natasha and Daniel quietly exit the office with just one glare from him.

" What do you want now, Caden? " Vanessa asks through gritted teeth, obviously sounding irritated.

Caden chuckles. "I just came to know how my little baby sister is doing."

She rolls her eyes. "You saw me last night and I was doing fine so don't bother me." she sits down and begin to look at some files on her table.

"I would hate to bother you but I'll be needing you to photocopy this documents and submit them to my office before two o'clock." he says with an evil smile on his face as he placed a bunch of documents on her table.

She glares at him. "Don't you have a personal assistant to do that?"

"She's too busy to do anything else." he smirks while Vanessa caress her forehead like she's having a headache.

"I'll have my personal assistant to do it." she said calmly.

Caden uproars in laughter. "As the general manager of this company, I want you to do it." he said, drawing the word 'you'.

Vanessa almost explodes in anger. Is Caden out of his mind?

"Failure to submit this documents in time will attract a punishment that will not be suitable for you, my little baby sister."

And before Vanessa could say another word, he leaves her office with Vanessa looking baffled. She couldn't believe this. However, she continued with her work.

By the time she is done with her personal work, it was almost two o'clock. She gasps, quickly packing the documents and rushing out of her office. She takes the elevator to the second floor where the photocopy will be done.

To her surprise, Caden is already standing beside one of the photocopying machines, grinning haughtily at her.

"Seems like someone is in for a punishment." he said sarcastically. Vanessa rolls her eyes.

"Caden, am not really in the mood for your talk." in truth, she wasn't in the mood for his troubles as she was already exhausted from her work. She places the documents on the table close to her and was about to switch on the machine when Caden's voice rang in her ears.

" And make a hundred copies of each of the documents in both blue and yellow color."

Vanessa feels like crying out loud in frustration. Is this some sort of a joke? But Caden is long gone before she can retaliate.

Vanessa set to work. The documents are in four parts, each one had an extra hundred copies which she had to photocopy them all in both blue and yellow color, so disheartening! By the time she was through with only two sets of files, it was almost dark.

Although a few workers had offered to help her out, she had to refuse because she did not want to attract the so called wrath of Caden's punishment.... Again.

The elevator opens and Daniel walks in with her handbag.

"Ma'am, here's your bag." he says, handing over the bag to her. "Can I be of help, Miss Hilton?" he offers. She smiles sadly.

"I'll just do this myself." she declines.

"You know that you can leave this and come back tomorrow to continue." he tried to convince her but she shook her head.

"You don't have to worry about me Daniel, I'll be alright." she smiles reassuringly and finally convince him to go home.

Alone, she goes through her phone and explodes in anger when she sees her notifications. She had sixty seven missed calls from different companies she was trying to collaborate with, about forty text messages from those companies and even Jason too.

Her schedule is messed up all because of this stupid work her crazy brother made her do. While she's still fuming in anger, the elevator opens and a young lady walks in with some files in her hands.

"Miss Hilton, young master Hilton asked me to bring you this files to photocopy." the lady says bluntly.

Vanessa's self control snapped as she glares at the lady who immediately cringes in fear. "You know what? Am done with this mindless piece of s**t am doing here, tell him to f**k off for all I care."

She threw the files, including the ones that she had already photocopied, on the floor. The lady gasps in shock.

Picking up her bag, Vanessa rearranges her hair and eyes the lady who was still in shock.

" And clean up this mess. "she instructs before stomping out. She goes straight to her car, she needs to drink some hot vodka to calm her nerves but she can't go alone since she wasn't sure of what her cunning brother is up to.

He could stalk her and send thugs to beat her up or even worse, kill her. She shudders at the thought of that. Quickly, she dials Jason's number. He picks up on the second ring and judging from his croaked voice, he was sleeping.

"Sorry Jason, for waking you up."she apologized.

" No, it's alright, Nessa. It's just been a few minutes I slept off. Is there any problem? "he asks her, sounding worried.

" It's just that am so angry and frustrated right now and I need to drink. "

" What happened? "

" Can you meet me tonight? I'll explain everything to you later tonight. "

" Okay, "he replies and she sighs in relief.

" I'll text you the location. "she said before hanging up.
