Vanessa woke up and hurriedly prepared for work but not without texting Jason to check on him which he says he's fine.

Getting to work, she is greeted by Daniel who met her at the elevator.

"Miss Hilton, you have a conference meeting to attend in the next ten minutes." he said as soon as she entered the elevator.

Vanessa nods. "I'll head to the conference room from here."

"Alright, I'll just drop your schedule on your table along with other necessary files." he said as she leaves to the conference room.

When she gets there, she waits for extra five minutes before the meeting started.

In the room were the seven board members of the group including her father, the assistant CEO and secretary with Natasha, her best friend and every other manager of the different departments in the company. Caden is surprisingly present.

One of the board members starts the meeting with a speech.

"I would like to thank everyone present here for attending this conference meeting irrespective of your schedule. We, the board members appreciate your time and effort in working hard to satisfy the company's aims and objectives,

" Today, we are going to talk about change and a new phase. It's been over thirty years since Donald Hilton became the founder and CEO of Hilton's group and now we have finally come to a decision to hand over the company to one of his children."

There was a lot of gasps coming from most of the people present as shock was evident on their faces.

The man, however, continues." We all know that Donald Hilton has two children, Caden Hilton and Vanessa Hilton. However, our decision is to give the company to one of them based on their performance - -"

"Why are we turning the company's power into competition when it's obvious that the position should be given to Caden." one of the mangers interrupts. A few others nod in approval.

"I support the boards decision. Vanessa has contributed a lot to our company's growth and I won't even mind if the position is given to her." another person supports her. Some people also nod in approval too.

"But Caden is the oldest and it's just right for him to have the company." Caden's supporter opposed.

"He doesn't have a knowledge of how to manage the company unlike Vanessa who has been with us the whole time." Vanessa's supporter retorted and soon the room was filled with noise and arguments.

"SILENCE!!!" Donald yells, slamming his hand heavily on the table. Everywhere falls silent and calm.

"The decision has been made. If anyone of them messes up then it's their fault. Now about Caden, let's give him a chance to prove himself. He'll be the new general manager in this company and that's final. This meeting is over." Donald says with an air of finality.

Vanessa's eyes Widen in surprise. What the heck!!!
