Rob had left Savage Guidance Systems’ Chiswick office earlier on what had been a pleasant but chilly Wednesday morning, with the keys to the flat Kasia had shared with her sister, Magdalena, and driven to Heathrow. He parked at “Meet & Greet” on level 4 of the Short Term car park at Terminal 5 and headed for the comfort of the BA lounge for coffee and a snack before boarding his flight. As the Airbus A320 rose from the runway at London’s Heathrow airport and turned into a heading which would see it arrive in Hamburg some one hour and forty minutes later at 16.10 local time, Rob reflected on how much he had hated early morning flights, which usually meant getting out of bed at around four o’clock or a similar ungodly hour. These early flights were usually filled with eager business people
