Rob pulled the collar of his jacket tighter round his neck to keep out the cold wind which was blowing down Davidstrabe. Rob knew that “Luftballon” would not come to life till close on midnight so decided to find somewhere to eat, before having a look at the nightclub. Rather than walk back toward Spielbudenstrasse, Rob had decided to head for the riverside area to find a restaurant overlooking the river Elbe where it flowed through Hamburg. He found a steakhouse he had checked out on TripAdvisor and having secured a table overlooking the river, ordered some warm breads with oil and balsamic vinegar while he waited for a rare fillet with sautéed asparagus and a bottle of mineral water.
