-Ethan Owen-
"What did Grandma Anita say? Has she agreed to take her drugs?" Mom asked after I had sent one of her maids to go back upstairs and take care of my grandmother.
"Yes, Mom. Grandma wants me to marry, and I already promised her that I will. But if she kills herself, I will remain single," I said, and my mother's eyes widened in shock at my statement before she frowned.
"Ethan, you wouldn't remain single. You will get married no matter what happens," Mom said, her voice firm, and I sighed.
"I know, Mom. I am tired. Last night, I spent so much time in the hotel trying to seal a business deal," I said as I saw my sister had left the house. She wasn't in the living room with my mother.
"Alright, Ethan. You can go to your old room to rest. It's still neat," Mom said, to which I sighed and rose to my feet.
"How about Angelina? Has she found a husband yet? You and Dad are pressing for me to get married when Angelina is already a grown woman. What stops you all from pushing her into marriage?" I asked, and my mother sighed frustratingly.
"You and your sister are just the same. But unlike you, who has an aversion for women, Angelina has dated almost all of the rich guys in this Dominic City, and she has broken up with many of them. I don't know what is wrong with her, but you need to talk to her. That's not how to live life. She needs to have one partner and hold on to him," Mom said, her voice sad, as she wasn't happy about my sister's lifestyle.
"Don't worry, Mom. I believe Angelina will find her missing rib soon," I replied, and my mother nodded.
"Let's hope so," she said, to which I smiled and made my way upstairs to my room.
When I got into my old room, my phone rang, and I grabbed it to see who was calling me.
As I walked up to my bed to have a seat, I saw that the exquisite room was furnished and neat.
I pulled out my phone and glanced at the caller, and I was stunned to see it was an unknown number.
*Who could this be?* I pondered, but the call ended before I could answer it. And I called back to find out who it was. Surprisingly, it was Eva's soft voice.
"Hello, sir. This is Eva Brooks calling," she said, and I felt my heart racing just by listening to her soft voice.
"I am aware. Have you made up your mind to work for me? I gave you my personal contact card, so I know you're the one calling," I replied to Eva calmly, and I could hear the nervousness in her voice.
"Oh! Well, I thought about your offer, and I accept to work as your secretary. Are you sure you will pay me 2 million per month?" Eva inquired, and I could hear her heart racing, like she was in doubt if I could afford to pay her such a tremendous amount.
I just wanted to have Eva close to me, probably to stay in touch with her, and that's why I was offering her such a job.
I knew most of my secretaries that had been fired were paid 200,000 monthly.
It was incredible that I was offering to pay her such a huge amount. Anyway, I was a billionaire, and the money was nothing to my bank account.
"Yeah. Or have you changed your price?" I asked her smoothly.
"No. I accept. It's fine. I just want to be sure that you will pay me that amount," Eva said, and I sighed heavily.
"I will keep to my terms of the deal. You should keep to yours. I expect to see you in my company by Monday. Note: not the hotel," I reminded Eva, before she went there to my hotel and asked for me.
My contact card had my company address on it: the Owens Group's headquarters in Dominic City.
"Got it, boss," Eva replied, and I laughed.
"Fine. I am your boss. You should address me as boss," I replied, smiling to myself like a young man in love, and I couldn't believe that a woman was making me feel this special.
"Alright. Take care, sir," Eva replied, to which I responded, "You too."
The phone call ended, and I kept looking at my phone screen even after the call had ended.
It felt natural speaking to Eva, but I didn't feel that way when I spoke with Freya.
*Why am I comparing them?* I pondered aloud as I shook my head and tried not to think too deeply about Eva.
She was an unknown woman to me. I didn't know where she was from. But the fact that I had s*x with her, and she was my first, was disturbing.
Shaking my head, I took off my blue suit coat to have a bath again as my mind kept on replaying the scene from the hotel room the previous night.
The moment Eva had rushed in, running past my group of bodyguards and climbing on my bed.
She was helpless, and I wasn't supposed to touch her. But I couldn't help myself. She awoke a primal desire in me—something that I hadn't felt in ages.
There were magazine rumors about me being gay, but I didn't mind the news, and I didn't order my PR manager to take it down. It was all a publicity stunt for me, and it did well in giving me free promotion since many fans couldn't do well other than gossip about the elites in Dominic City.
Shaking my head, I went to have my bath in the bathroom. As I stood under the shower in the washroom and allowed the cold water to wash my head and calm my arousal.
My díck was rock hard, all because of that strange woman I was meeting for the first time.
When I got out of the shower, I grabbed a white towel and draped it around my waist.
My phone rang aloud, making me scowl as I wondered who was calling me.
When I moved to pick up my phone, I was stunned to see it was a call from my cousin. My mother's sister's son, Festus Norman.
Festus was a 32-year-old guy and married with a wife and two kids: a boy first and a girl second. He was my buddy too.
"What's up, Ethan? Free tonight? I am hosting a party in your hotel?" Festus inquired, his voice urgent.
"What party?" I asked him, knowing that he owned a fashion company.
"My new collection. So I want to make use of your hotel runway to advertise the new collection," Festus said, to which I rolled my eyes.
"I don't know if I could be there or not. What time?" I asked, to which he replied, "By 6-8 PM. It's a 2-hour event."
"Alright. I will be there," I replied, before Festus reminded me, "Bring your fiancée over. I would like to meet her."
"Mmm…" I scowled, before I remembered what my parents said about taking Freya out on a date.
"Alright. I will bring her over. You should bring your wife too. A married man like you shouldn't be surrounded by models alone."
"Ethan, my wife just gave birth to my daughter. She cannot come."
"I knew you would give an excuse. Don't worry, I will have you guarded," I said, before Festus laughed and said, "Alright. See you tonight."
My phone call with Festus ended, and I sighed and kept the phone on the drawer, before going to my bed to lie on it.
