{Ethan's POV}

Arriving at my company, The Owens Group, I was eager to meet with Eva too.

The fact that she hadn't called me to ask if I was the one who bailed her out or helped her settle her ex-boyfriend made me annoyed, but I tried not to get worked up by her. Besides, she wasn't anything to me except for the fact that I had had a one-night stand with her.

"Welcome, sir," the receptionist and the staff working in my company lobby greeted me. As I wore a black suit and white undershirt, matching with a pair of black shoes, I made my way to the elevator, unconcerned about the staff greeting me.

I had taken a look at all their faces. None of them was the face that I wanted to see. I wanted to see her, Eva. Where could she be? Had she failed to keep up with her own part of our deal?
