Chapter 10: Red meat

........2 weeks later...........

I was sitting in Cillian's office as we talked with Ed and Terrance about security for the pack, while Cillian and I went to the Alpha summit in New York city. When the meeting was over Ed and Terrance left and Cillian and I got ahead on the paperwork that had to be done. We went through the bank papers and did payroll before we looked at the work that needed to be done. When the clock said 2:30 I stood up from my spot and kissed Cillian on the temple before telling him to get up.

"We have the doctor's appointment in ten Cill." I said getting his attention.

"s**t, sorry babe." Cillian said as he stood up. I hadn't gotten my heat, so we decided to have the doctors run a blood test to confirm our suspicions. We walked to the pack doctor's five minutes away and I went to the desk. 

"How can I help you today Luna?" Canary asked

"I have an appointment with Dr. Jennings in five minutes." I said, she looked at the computer and smiled then told me to have a seat. I sat next to Cillian and held his hand as we waited for Dr. Jennings, he was the doctor that fixed my ribs.

"Luna Ashlyn." A nurse called, Cillian and I stood and followed her to a room where she had me sit on the chair covered in paper and Cillian on a stool beside me.

"I see we are here for a blood test, can you tell me why." She said looking at her small laptop.

"I missed my heat." I simply said hoping she would get it. She smirked and typed something into her laptop.

"Are you sexually active?" She asked.

"Absolutely." I said making Cillian chuckle.

"Do you use contraceptives?"

"Not once." 

"I need to know how many people you have been sexually active with." She said.

"Just Cillian." I said quickly.

"Just Ashlyn." Cillian said. I raised my eyebrow and he shrugged his shoulders. I did not expect him to be a virgin. 

"Perfect. I'll send Doctor Jennings in." The nurse said as she left.

"Really? I'm the only one?" I asked him. He gave me an offended look before he replied. 

"I'm not a man-w***e Ashlyn. I wanted to save myself for my mate." I was surprised by his snappy tone.

"I wasn't calling you a man-w***e, I'm just a little surprised." I said honestly. 

"Why?" He asked, if I weren't a werewolf his tone probably would have given me frostbite.

"The way you handle yourself in bed makes you seem like a pro, you always surprise me with new things." I said trying to warm up the room. He tilted his head as he looked at me and sighed, an uncomfortable silence fell over us for the first time ever.  I looked down at my hands not sure what to say when the doctor walked in.

"Alright let me see that arm." I stuck my arm out and the doctor cleaned my elbow, Cillian took my free hand as the doctor put the needle in my arm. I watched as the blood filled the syringe, the doctor took the needle out and held a cotton ball were the blood came from. Once I was healed he left the room, Cillian had let go of my hand once the needle left my skin.

"Please tell me." I said softly. He looked at me, his blue eyes were cold and void of emotion. I whimpered and he blinked before sighing and looking down.

"I hate hospitals." He said quietly "every time I walk in all I can see is my mom on that stupid bed. I see you too, that day I found you, you were so pale. I thought I was going to lose you the same way I lost her, in one of these horrible rooms." I climbed off the bed and into his lap and curled into his chest, he put his face in my neck and held me tightly. 

"If this test comes back positive, you will make some good memories in one too. You'll hear our babies heartbeat for the first time here, you will meet our pup here, this will be the place you come to for check-ups. This place wont just have bad memories anymore. I just need you to think bout that." I said as I took his hand. He held mine tightly and nodded his head in my shoulder, I felt him take a few deep breaths before he pulled his face from my neck and kissed my cheek. 

"I love you Ash." He said resting his forehead on my temple. 

"I fall deeper and deeper for you every second Cillian." I said before I kissed him sweetly. I felt him smile a little and I let out a breath of relief. Cillian stood up and placed me back on the table before Doctor Jennings walked in. 

"So we ran a test, Ashlyn you need to eat more red meats, your iron is low." Doctor Jennings scolded. 

"But I like Chicken." I huffed. Cillian laughed while doctor Jennings rolled his eyes. 

"We also confirmed that you are indeed pregnant, congratulations." I can't remember being happier than I was in that moment. I placed and hand on my stomach at tears of joy rolled down my face.

(We're pregnant!) Crescent howled in my head. Cillian's hand joined mine as he stood up and kissed my temple, I could feel how happy he was too. 

"Remember Ashlyn, red meat, the pup will need it." Doctor Jennings said as he left the room. I pulled Cillian to the desk where we payed for the test. Then I ran outside and shifted, I howled in Euphoria, Cillian shifted and did the same. We ran through the pack happily and ran into Terrance and Amber, I nuzzled the small pup and Cillian licked my furry belly. Terrance actually squealed like a girl when he figured out what was going on. 

"Congratulations Alpha and Luna!" He said giddily as Ellie walked up, I yipped at her and ran around her preening myself, Cillian let out a wolfish chuckle and he padded up to me and purred while Terrance told Ellie, who screeched and hugged me. 

"I better know the s*x before Terrance!" she growled making Cillian and I chuckle. I licked her face then nodded my head and yipped at Cillian and running into the woods. I ran to my cave and stretched before curling up inside and hiding from Cillian. I didn't mask my scent so he found me and I wriggled in happiness, he crawled into the cave and layed down next to me, putting his head next to mine. I shifted back to human form and he followed suit. I rolled over and faced him, he wrapped his body around mine and kissed me so passionately I began to cry again.

"This is the best day ever." I said against his lips. 

"I have to agree with you on that one Ash. I don't think I have ever been as elated as I am with you right here, right now."

"Cillian, if the Alpha's at the summit don't bring it up, I don't want them to know what I am. I have a feeling at least one of them would try to take me from you." I knew I was ruining the moment, but I needed to get it out. 

"I will email the Alpha's that know and ask them not to say anything. I also think we should keep the pup a secret until it is more developed."

"That is going to be the hardest part, all I'm gonna want to do is touch my belly." I said looking down.

"Me too, but we can play it down. You can sit in my lap and I can put my left hand on your stomach, and you can out your right on it, your left can go over mine and my right can go over yours."

"I like it." I said then another concern popped into my head. "What if we see Alexa? I don't think I can look at her Cill."

"If you do see her, think of something that makes you happy. Like chicken or kicking ass."

"I'd rather think of you." I said like a sap.

"You sound like one of the chicks in those romance movies you hate." He said chuckling. I growled lowly. I felt him harden against my abdomen and I instantly got wet. I bit my bottom lip and reached down and slid him inside me with a moan. He went slower than usual and kissed me until I was about to c*m, he bit down on my mark and I screamed as my c*m squirted all over his c**k, I looked down and saw him dripping. I licked my lips, but he put himself back in, I came at least 4 more times. I was getting sore from all the pounding so I bit his neck as I came the 5th time. His jizz filled me and I sighed as he layed back down beside me. I fell asleep curled up in his arms, I woke up in a cave looking up at Slate. 

"Hi Slate, it's been a while." I said smiling. He gave me a wolfish smile and chuckled. 

"That it has. I see the nightmares have stopped." He said and I nodded. "Tell me how is your mate?"

"Wonderful Slate, we are starting a family." I put a hand on my belly and he purred. 

"You deserve it Ashlyn, I am here to wish you luck at the Alpha summit."

"How are you able to talk to me Slate, only you and Caldon have, why?"

"I think it is because you both are from my blood line, but unlike you and I Caldon was a copper Crescent wolf." 

"I see." I said scratching my itchy nose.

"Anyway..." Slate said, "I came to wish you good fortune at the Alpha summit, I hope all goes as planned." I smiled at him as he walked over and set his head on the top of mine, I yawned and closed my eyes and fell asleep.

...............Alpha Darius POV..............

I watched the white wolf spar with one of our younger warriors, her form was sloppy and unguarded. The warrior defeated her and she threw her hands in the air in another tantrum. I had her training everyday, she was slowly getting better, very slowly. Her parents babied her by carrying off the training field and filling her tub up with warm bath water. I watched as her mother carried her a large water bottle and a towel, she was the worst. Alexa's father seemed rather distant at times, I watched as he would stare at punching bags or the fish swimming in the pond. I walked over to him one day as he stared at the fish.

"John." I said, he didn't face me when he spoke, he just kept staring.

"There is a piece missing, but I don't know what it is." John spoke so quietly that I almost didn't hear him.

"Alpha! I have important news!" A pack member named George yelled taking my attention from John.

"Tell me." I said lowly.

"I think we should speak in your office Alpha." I was now extremely curious, I nodded and led the wolf to my office to where Alexa was looking for me.

"Alexa come in and sit." I said as George and entered my office. "What is the news George?" I asked.

His smile was so large I thought he would say something about him, "there is talk of a Crescent wolf." I felt my eyes go wide as I looked at him, Alexa looked extremely confused. 

"What is a Crescent wolf?" She asked.

"Crescent wolves are the rarest wolves in the world, the last one was named Kraya, she died over 300 years ago." I said as I looked at George. "What color?"

"I'm not certain, but the rumors say black." Black means an Alpha or one born with Alpha blood.

"Hopefully they are at the Alpha summit, I would love to meet the Crescent wolf."

"Why? I'm rare and I am right here." Alexa bragged.

"Unlike you the Crescent is most certainly going to be strong, maybe if it's a female, I'll reject you and mark her instead." I growled, her eyes got watery and she stood and left the room. 

(Is she going to the summit with us?)

I don't know why?

(I don't want a weak wolf at my side in front of the other Alpha's.)

I don't either, plus if we don't bring her, maybe her sister will talk to us.
