CHAPTER NINE

"I like you." His fist clenched, jaw tightened. "So please don't go around liking another guy." His lips parted with those sweet plump lips, and his eyes glistening as the lights on the sidewalks reflected the lenses. Speechless, and overwhelmed. A lump forming on my throat, I don't even know what to tell him. And all I could muster up to form in my mouth was— "You're a chico loco." I took a step back, shaking my head in disbelief. He is definitely crazy boy. No—It cannot be. He doesn't like me. It hasn't been a month since we met. So how could he like me? "I am crazy." He breathed in, looking down as he continue playing with his fingers. "It makes me insane whenever I see you talking and blushing to another guy—" "Why?" I interrupted him, searching for his eyes. He looked above, locking his gaze with mine and never leaving them. "Why what?" His plump lips and cheeks moved together with more words coming out from his mouth. "I mean why do you like me?" I choked out, insecurities started to fill up my entire body just thinking about someone liking me. "Why would you like someone like me?" Silence. "What do you mean like you?" Jimin snickered, stepping forward as he leaned in making me startle before he took a step back, glancing from head to toe. "Look at you!" He pointed at my body with his hand from head to toe. "It's impossible not to like someone like you." "That's not what—" "Do I need a reason to love someone?" Jimin cut off, staring right through me making my eyes quiver in surprise and heart fasten inside, it could be heard from Jimin's position. "What?" "Should there be a reason for me to like nor love you?" He restated making me tilt my head, bewildered. "No, but—" "Because I don't have to have a reason to like you." A small smile played on his lips before emphasizing the next words. "I just like you because I like you." I stood there, couldn't utter out a single word as my heart and mind listened to the sound of his words—the way his words were delivered just played a music in my ears and the way he used the words carefully made my heart completely gave itself out. "If there's a reason when you love someone, that means the love changes when the reason is gone." My eyes flickered, completely flustered at his conniving words coming from his sinful mouth. "A-And your point?" I managed to stutter out at least three words. "So," he took a deep breath, with an eye smile on his face. "I like you without a reason." He waited for me to answer, but I couldn't say a word to him. How am I supposed to answer his confession? He cracked a sad smile, getting the thought that I wouldn't be able to say anything. "Let's me take you out on a date." My breath hitched, and eyes widened at his sudden statement. "And I will prove to you that I will be the right man for you." My jaw dropped—still processing the words that he said as memories of us meeting on the first, second meeting, and the third time was yesterday, or was it? And now our fourth encounter was this, with him confessing his love to me? He must be crazy. "At least give me a chance." He pleaded, eyes moistened while looking at me. I breathed in, snapping out of my thoughts and blinked twice before a soft mutter escaped my mouth, saying 'Fine.' Jimin's eyes widened, mouth went gaped—probably surprised by my answer as he blanked out for a moment before he squeaked. He looked at me, a smile playing on his lips as he pulled me in a tight embrace before I could react. "Thank you." He softly said, brushing my hair. He pulled away, hands on my wrist as he grabbed me towards the car—that is his car?! I gulped, lips dried up and stopped my tracks. Jimin looked at me in confusion and looked at the car before he chuckled. "It belongs to Namjoon hyung." With that, he pushed me inside the car with him trying to put my seatbelt making my eyes almost pulled out my sockets before pulling away and went to the driver's seat. He sat comfortably, wearing his seatbelt, and started the engine before driving to heaven knows where. "Where are we going?" I asked, curiously. "To the beach." He responded, eyes on the road with a smug look on his face. _______________ And-going to the beach with Park Jimin wasn't a good idea after all. Never in my wildest dream would have thought we would end up in this state. Jimin stopped the car, clearing his throat with a cough before he pulled over to the side as I released a sigh. I looked at Jimin, glaring at him while he just shrugged, putting out his bottom lips—looking so innocent as if he didn't drive above the country's km/hr. I closed my eyes tightly, sighing as I leaned back on the seat as we waited for the officer behind us to come near. Thoughts messing and invaded my mind. The idea of getting hit by my aunt for staying out late again made me shake my head as I replayed the scene last night. And now, pretty sure I'd be hit again if I ever sleep at the police station, for letting Jimin drive again. I mean, I couldn't leave him nor stay in this car now, do we? The police stopped right in front of my side's window, pulling out his note and pen. "Tell me your names." What a luck. I breathed out, straightening my posture as I parted my lips to answer. "It's—" "Jihyo, don't tell him!" Jimin cut me off, leaning in, making me raised my eyebrows in confusion and shocked. "Jimin?!" I squeaked, facing him and shot him another death glare. He backed away, pressing his lips together in defeat. I could hear the police clearing his throat with him looking at Jimin and I bickering. "Okay Mr. Jihyo and Ms. Jimin." He wrote down our names on his notebook, writing something over there. "That's rude." Jimin pouted, crossing his arms over his chest as his eyebrows arched. "I am Jimin and she is Jihyo." I looked at him, gritting my teeth in annoyance, and hitting his seat at the same time. "Dios mío, Park Jimin!" I hissed, raising my arms to hit him on his shoulders but my eyes widened as soon as I realized what I just did before looking down so shamelessly. "Han Jihyo, don't use the name of God in vain!" Jimin scolded me, shooting me a disappointing look. I forgot that he is a pastor. Of course, no names of the Lord could be mentioned when you are with a person who is a member in a monastery. But guess what? The police totally caught our names. Best of luck to both of us. "Park Jimin and Han Jihyo. Come with me to the police station." The police said strictly, making me let out a grumble. What a nice place to spend the night with—at the police station at that.
