Chapter 20 Just Admit

-Fae's view-

I woke up in a hospital bed. I wasn't sure how long I've been here. My eyes scanned the room and I was gonna try to sit up but I felt something soft and warm brush against my hand.

When I went to look it was a red wing covering my lower half of my body. I slowly followed the wing to Angelo sleeping with his arms using them as pillows on the edge of my bed. I felt a smile start to pull on the edge of my lips. I let out a happy sigh. I was happy to see him again.

I heard him mumbling in his sleep.

My love my love my fearless love

I never say goodbye

Sea may rise sky may fall

My love will never die

My eyes widen. I have never sung that song to anyone before. It was a song my mother taught me. I sighed softly. Maybe he heard me singing it before?

I lifted up my hand and ran through his hair gently stroking it. I heard him give me a little hum of satisfaction, along with a tiny smile.

"Sir Angelo?" I was able to whisper his name. I didn't hear a response, and let out a small sigh, my side was hurting from leaning over too much to play with his hair. I laid on my back and then gently stroked his soft wing with my hand. Petting it like a small animal.

I felt Angelo's body shiver and a quiet moan escaped from his lips. My eyes widen but then soften. "I guess you like that." I smiled.

I fluttered my eyes closed and had a soft smile on my face. "I remember when I tried to help you when you were hurt, you wouldn't let me touch them in your sleep." I slowly opened my eyes and looked at his face. "Now you have them on me and letting my pet them in your sleep."

I bit my lip, as tears started to form in my eyes. "Sir Angelo. I am so sorry! This is all my fault." The tears started to flow over and rolled. I couldn't help but to sniffle hard trying to hide it.

But hearing me, his eyes slowly opened until he heard me start to sob.

"Baby bird? What's wrong?!?" He jumped up and grabbed my face ever so gently to make me look at him.

"I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry Angelo!" I cried out. His face was trying to study mine. I closed my eyes so I couldn't see him. I could feel my lip quivering. I was about to breathe in when I felt his lips on mine. My eyes shot open.

My breath hitched, my heart stopped and then started beating like crazy making the heart monitor beep rapidly.

Once he broke the kiss he placed his forehead on mine and stared straight into my eyes. "I'm just glad you're okay my song bird."

My brows narrowed. Song bird? My eyes darted between his eyes. Angelo smirked and pulled back.

"I guess you leveled up again!" He laughed. I felt like he was trying to lift the mood. I was confused.

"Sir Ke-" he cut me off.

"Look Baby bird, I have something to ask you." He sat back down in his seat. He had a serious face and he pulled his hands to his face like he was trying to put his thoughts into words.

I slowly sat up using my bed as support, and he put his arm under my back to help me up.

"I need to know. Do you know a name called-" he was cut off by a knock at the door. A nurse walked in her clipboard and she made her way over. Looking at Angelo and then me.

"Hey Yukino, how are you feeling? You went through alot so I can understand if you are still in alot of pain." I looked up at her, and tried to smile.

"I'm feeling better!" I lied. I couldn't help my body tense up and Angelo felt it, but didn't say anything.

"Okay well if the doctor is ready for you to go, you can but we are still not sure what happened to you." She was asking questions that I rather not answer, for her safety and my own.

"Sadly I don't remember anything that happened." I once again lied. She looked at Angelo and he just gave her his masked smile as he rubbed my back.

She let out a sigh, but accepted my answer. "Well okay I'll tell the doctor that you are feeling better hopefully you can go home tonight or tomorrow morning." She gave us a smile and then walked out of the door.

I let out a sigh and lowered my head. I felt terrible about lying but I did it, to protect these people.

"You okay song bird?" Angelo gently touched my chin and made me look at him. His golden slit eyes glued on to me. I slowly nodded.

"I think so." I spoke softly.

"You know you could have told her you're still in pain." His voice was nothing but worry.

I shook my head, making his face pull a little way from my face. "I'll be fine, long as I stay with you, I believe I'll be okay."

Slowly a smile creeped onto his face, and this smile wasn't like one I had seen before. It looked like a genuine smile from the heart.

I couldn't help to smile back at him. "Oh, Sir Angelo, what were you going to ask me?" I back trailed to his question from earlier.

His smile faded and he swatted his hand in front of his face like he was trying to dismiss the question. "Ah Kid don't worry about it."

I narrowed my eyes and gave him a side eye. "No please tell me, because I felt like it was important."

He took in a deep breath and held it. Quickly sighing it out. "Did you ever know a kid named Kei?"

My mind froze, and my body froze. I could feel the room getting colder. As the name Kei kept repeating in my head. I slammed my eyes shut and grabbed my head.

Flash back of my childhood, and finally I saw something. A sad looking angel sitting on top of the swing set.

Don't be a sad angel! Wanna be my friend? I ended up speaking these words, without even thinking. I'm Yukino Fae! What's your name?

"Kei," both a child and Angelo' voice , played before me. My eyes opened, before I could see anything I saw his red wings engulfed us while he hugged me tightly.

"You.....you're my sad angel, from a long time ago?" I could feel my lip trembling and my body shaking. Slowly I was able to pull my arms up and hugged him tightly.

I felt him barring his head into my neck and nodded softly. "Yeah. Sadly I forgotten about you to Fae." Slowly he pulled back from his hug so I could see his face. "But I dreamt about you every Goddamn night."

My eyes widened, once in a while my mind played our first encounter in my dreams but never got to the part where he told me his name.

"I love you Fae, I always had." He gave me a light smile.

"I love you too Kei-kun."

He placed a hand around my cheek and pulled me into a kiss.

-Angel's view-

My heart beat going a million miles an hour. I wanted to cry, I wanted to hold her until the end of time. I wanted everything to do with her. Fae, my darling Fae. I thought you died so long ago and now, I have you. This time nothing is going to take you away from me.

I broke the kiss and placed my forehead on hers. My breath was a little shaky and so was hers. I stared into those icy blue eyes. So full of love and life.

Gently she placed her hands over mine and fluttered her eyes closed and I saw her cheeks become a pink tint.

"Kei?" She whispered. Not bothering to look up.

"Mhmm?" I responded.

"They have gotten to father. They have his ring. And they kept asking about some type of heirloom." She finally looked up to me. My eyes widened.

"What do you mean they got your father?" Her face was serious, and slowly the happiness was draining from her.

"They had his ring, his wedding ring." She looked down and away from me. "I....I want it back."

I gave her a nod and wrapped my hands to the back of her head and pulled her into my chest. I gently stroked the back of her head and nodded.

"Okay hummingbird we will get it back." I heard her make almost a coo sound as she wrapped her hands around my arm.

"Thank you Kei-kun." My heart did little backflips in my chest; it's been so long since I heard that voice.

"We will find it, love birds. Don't worry, I'll make sure of it." I loosen my hold and kissed her forehead head again.
