Chapter 20; What have you done?

4707 Words
Lilly I woke up with a gasp looking around my surroundings noticing I was still at the abandoned house in pitch black, alone, well not really alone since Elijah was dead, his body held up against the wall by a coat rack. I stood up looking around listening for any signs of Elena but there was nothing, no heartbeat, not one little sound. Those wankers that I call my brothers actually left me here, they saved Elena but left me here! Out of anger I grabbed the coat rack out of Elijah’s chest throwing it to the other side of the hallway letting out a scream. I was so angry with them, I’ve tried to make amends with them, helped them keep Elena safe, and this is how they repay me, by leaving me in an abandoned house weak from the vervain I’ve had pumped into my system over the however long it’s been! I had no clue as to where I was, I was still weak and I had no blood to strengthen myself, I just hope there’s some humans close by so I can get my strength back then go back to Mystic Falls and kick those bastards arses. I stumbled out of the house making my way down the long ass driveway, hoping I’d bump into someone soon, it took me a while but I managed to get some human blood down me, leaving whatever town I was in with a big drop in their population, before I made my way back to Mystic Falls, specifically the boarding house. I was gonna kick their arses then go to bed for the night and leave in the morning, I wasn’t staying here any longer, my brothers could rot in hell for all I cared, they’ve gone too far now! As I walked into the boarding house I could hear them both in the library, chatting amongst themselves about god knows what, but I wasn’t interested, I grabbed one of the wooden stakes that was laying around the house as I made my way towards the library. As I leant against the doorframe I threw the stake into Damon’s back just below his heart. “Cheers for leaving me on the floor, brothers” They both looked towards me, Damon struggling to get the stake out of his back, but they didn’t say anything making me smirk. “Oh, what? You both thought I’d come back all jolly that you saved your precious Elena, but left me there?” I mussed as I walked towards them, Stefan pulling the stake out of Damon’s back. “We don’t know what you’re ever up to, Lilly, you distance yourself from us, why would we save you when you haven’t even tried to be our sister!” Damon snapped making me rush over to him pushing him against the wall. “Haven’t tried?! Are you completely stupid! I tried to stop you from opening the tomb so you didn’t get your heart broken by the b***h once again, I helped you with the tomb vampires, I killed Mason, I’ve helped you both protect Elena because I know you both love her, even if it is sad reliving 1864, I stop myself every single day not to suck the b***h dry, for you 2 because you care for her! I was going to kill Katherine because of what she did to you both, not for me, for you 2! But no more, I’m gonna make you both wish that you had died for good back in 1864!” I shouted tightening my hold around his neck. “Lilly!” Stefan spoke making me snap my head towards him, letting go of Damon. “Don’t you start with your goody crap, you’re no better than Damon, finally showing your vampire side, eh Steffie?” I smirked as I took a step towards him. “You’ve spent all this time trying to hide it for precious Elena, but I wonder what she’d think if the ripper came back” I chuckled as he glared at me. I turned around looking at them both. “No matter what you both sprout out of your mouths now, it will not change anything, there’s no coming back from this. You will regret it” I spoke strongly before walking over to the mini bar pouring myself a drink chuckling to myself, I came here to ruin my brothers lives, but in the end they’ve ruined me. To them I wasn’t their sister, I was just some girl who they despise, I was nobody to them. I threw my glass against the wall making it smash and the drink go everywhere. “Do you not see what you’ve done?! You’ve done something nobody has ever being able to do, you’ve broke me!” I shouted making them both look at me, I didn’t know what to feel, my emotions were everywhere, I was angry, sad, vengeful, I was currently feeling every emotion you could think of. I looked at them both shaking my head since they still didn’t have anything to say, I grabbed a bottle of whiskey before going to make my way up to my room but only to be stopped in my tracks as someone rushed past me and around the room. “Oh, great, a visitor” I mumbled looking around the room just before Rose showed herself. I went to take a step towards her but she held her hands up in surrender stopping me. “I’m not here to hurt you” I chuckled sending her a glare. “I’ve had a really crappy couple of days, so I suggest you leave before I kill you” “Why are you here?” Stefan asked her making me roll my eyes since he always had to be polite. “Lexi once told me that you’re one of the good ones” She started only to be cut off by Damon who was drinking a glass of blood since he was now healed from my attack. “Hold up! You knew Lexi?” “Trevor was my best friend, for 500 years I have lived with one person and he’s gone and I don’t want to run anymore because I don’t have anywhere else to run to” She explained making me let out a snort. “Sorry, but we’re not running a B&B, so we can’t help you, so how about you leave from whatever dark place you’ve come from” “I don’t need your help, but I think you need mine, Elijah may be dead, but this isn’t over” She spoke looking at the 3 of us. “What do you mean it’s not over?” Stefan asked confused and no doubt worried for his precious human girlfriend. “Elijah’s dead, so it seems over to me” I shrugged. “It’s not over, they’ll come for Elena” She stated looking at Damon and Stefan before looking over at me. “They’ll come for you” I stared at her confused raising my eyebrows but before I could say anything Damon beat me to it. “Why?” “They have to, they’re doing it for him” Rose spoke, and I could hear the panic in her voice as she spoke about ‘him’ whoever this ‘him’ is, but I was stuck on wondering what they want with me, and how they knew me, but I couldn’t get my answers since Elijah’s dead. “For who?” Stefan asked bringing me out of my thoughts. “Klaus” She stated making my jaw drop. “Klaus? Klaus Mikaelson?! As in the original, Klaus?” I asked gaining a nod from her making me plop down in my sea. “Well this s**t just got real, real fast” I mumbled staring at nothing in particular. If Klaus wants me he’ll do anything to get me, I’ve heard stories about him, how whatever he wants he gets no matter who he has to kill along the way. It was all too much for me to take in, I just wanted to go to sleep but I couldn’t since Stefan called Elena telling her to come over, leaving out that Rose was here, how convenient? Looking down at my outfit I decided to head upstairs for a quick shower and to get into some fresh clothes, I couldn’t really stay in my bloody clothes. I stripped off as soon as I got into my room, chucking my dress in the bin, not bothered since I could always get a new one. Once I’ve heard everything Rose has to say I’m leaving, never to return back to this town, it brings me nothing but misery. I’d rather be alone than live like this, it’s a town full of bad memories, a town I never want to come back to. I might go to Milan for a while, anywhere far from here will do me perfectly. After a nice shower and changing into some fresh clothes I grabbed my phone before making my way down to the basement grabbing myself 2 bloodbags, I needed it since I still felt weak. Walking into the library with a bloodbag at my mouth and the other in my hand I noticed Elena hadn’t even arrived yet. Noticing the looks I got from the 2 idiots I rolled my eyes. “Don’t worry, I’m only staying to hear what Rose has to say then I’m leaving, you can deal with the Elena problem by yourselves” I smirked at them, I really wanted to stay and ruin their lives and mess their perfect lives up but this town was not the best place for me to stay right now. “What’s she doing here?” I snapped my head towards the door, my eyes landing on Elena who was currently glaring at Rose making me chuckle, the chicks got some balls when she’s around my brothers, she was an emotional mess when we were at the abandoned house. “Just hear her out” Stefan told her standing up, I rolled my eyes as I looked back at Rose. “If I don’t like what you say Rosie-Posie I will be ripping your heart out of my chest” I warned her making her look at me for a couple of seconds before looking at the others. “You have to understand I only know what I’ve picked up over the years and I don’t know what’s trued and what’s not true, that’s the problem with all this vampire crap, but Klaus I know is real” She started. “Who is he?” Elena asked confused looking at us 4 vampires. “One of the originals, he’s a legend” Damon told her as he stood a bit away from Rose. “He’s from the first generation of vampires” Stefan added. “Like Elijah?” “No, Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus, he’s a foot soldier, Klaus is the real deal” Rose explained, I threw one of the empty bloodbags onto the table before grabbing the other one. “Klaus is known to be to oldest” I told her before bringing the bloodbag up to my mouth. “Okay, so you’re telling me that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after me?” Elena stutted making me chuckle as I pulled the bloodbag away from my mouth. “Yes” Me and Rose answered as Damon and Stefan said “No” “What they’re saying, I mean that is what she’s saying is true-“ Damon started. “-Which I am” Rose cut in. “And you’re not saying this so I don’t kill you” Damon looked at her. “Which I’m not” Rose sighed no doubt knowing he’d do something like this. “Then we’re looking at a solid maybe” Damon spoke looking back at Elena. “Look, Elijah’s dead, right, so no one else knows that you exist” Stefan tried to sooth his girlfriend making me let out a snort. “Not that you know of, news travels pretty quick in the supernatural world” I rolled my eyes before bringing the bloodbag back up to my lips. “That’s not helping Lilly” Damon spoke glaring at me. “I’m not gonna sugar-coat it for the girl, if she’s so petrified of life then she shouldn’t have stuck around us, vampires bring nothing but trouble to humans, plus she should know the truth. Klaus wants us for a reason and if everything I’ve heard about him is true than we’re both screwed” I told him before looking over at Elena. “He always gets what he wants, no matter who he kills along the way” “I’ve never met anyone who’s laid eyes on him, I mean we’re talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction” Stefan spoke up sending me a glare before looking back at Elena who was now looking at us all with panic in her eyes. “We don’t know what’s real, for all we know he could just be some stupid bedtime story” “He’s real” I stated bluntly rolling my eyes, why are they trying to make her think otherwise? She should at least know that one of the oldest vampires is after her for some reason. “He’s real and he doesn’t give up. Lilly’s right, if he wants something he gets it” Rose agreed with me, finally someone who actually agrees with me. “If you’re not afraid of Klaus then you’re stupid” Rose spoke staring at Elena. “Okay, we’re shaking, you’ve made your point” Damon spoke crossing his arms over his chest just as Elena stood up grabbing her bag. “Where are you going?” Stefan asked her as she went to walk out of the room. “School, I’m gonna be late” Elena told her making me chuckle, no way was she going to school, she was going to see the she-devil. I hate to admit it but I knew Elena too well, inside she’s completely freaking out about the situation, but she also knew that Katherine knew the truth on the whole subject. “Let me get my bag” Stefan stood up going to follow her but stopped with her next words. “It’s okay, I know where it is” She spoke before walking out of the boarding house the door slamming closed behind her. “She’s in denial” Damon staged whispered to Rose making me chuckle. “Shut up Damon!” Stefan snapped before heading out himself, Damon heading upto his room leaving me with Rose, which happened to be perfect since I could ask her a few questions. “So, now that we’re alone Rosie, tell me, why did you take me?” I asked her as I threw the other empty bloodbag on top of the other, walking over to the mini bar to pour myself a drink. “All I know is that Klaus want’s you for something… He thought you died so he gave up looking for you, but word spread that you’re alive, so…” She trailed off, and I was still confused. “Why would he want me?” I asked her as I looked over at her. “I don’t even know the dude” I mumbled as I walked back over to my seat with my drink in hand. “I don’t know, but once word got around he had a ‘bounty’ put on your head, ever since everyone who wants to get on his good side and into his inner circle has been looking for you” She explained, and I didn’t really like the sound of that, the oldest vampire in history put a bounty on my head. I didn’t even know what I had done to have this bounty on my head, I never attracted attention, unlike Stefan, I’ve never crossed paths with the dude to even anger him! I need answers but nobody seemed to have those answers for me. Damon and Rose went off to Richmond to talk to her friend Slater to talk to him about Klaus, leaving me alone with a parting message. “Lilly, don’t leave yet, we need to talk later” And of course I didn’t listen, I wasn’t going to stay in the house alone, bored, instead I headed off to the grill to have a drink, and maybe grab myself a walking bloodbag. Walking into the bar I made a beeline over to the bar compelling myself a bottle of whiskey ready to drink myself into oblivion, but I was disturbed by a random guy. “Are you okay pretty lady?” I snorted at his pathetic attempt of flirting, that was until he started leaning closer towards me. “Listen mate, I’m not interested, leave before I suddenly become interested in that blood that’s currently running through your veins” I threatened but that didn’t seem to make him run out of here. “Oh, come on sweet cheeks, you know you want to” He flirted as his hand made its way up my leg, which I grabbed giving it a little squeeze. “What I want is for you to leave me the hell alone, if you don’t I will kill you” I warned him. “What can a girl like you do?” He asked only making me tighten my hold on his hand. “I could and will kill you” I smirked at him before I connected my eyes with his. “Walk outside and go to the side alley and wait there, don’t talk to anybody” I compelled before turning back in my seat sipping on my bottle of whiskey. I downed the whole bottle before I walked out to the alley, where the compelled human was stood waiting for me, I rushed over to stand in front of him. “Don’t make a sound” I compelled before letting my face vamp out, biting down on his neck, his blood pouring into my mouth. Now if his blood was better I would have let him live as my walking bloodbag, but unfortunately it tasted rotten so I pulled away from him, blood no doubt dripping from the corner of my mouth. He looked at me scared, but like a good compelled boy he didn’t make a sound. “Sorry mate, you just don’t cut it for me” I smirked at him before snapping his neck letting him drop to the floor. I looked around making sure there was nobody around that had just witnessed me killing him before I grabbed the dead body flinging it over my shoulder rushing back to the boarding house, I needed a shovel so I could bury it. As I walked through the door I was welcomed to Rose and Damon sat in the room. “What’s with the dead guy?” Damon asked raising his eyebrows as soon as I walked in. “What happened in Richmond?” I fired back. “You first, what are you doing with a dead body?” He asked as he stood up, me dropping the dead body on the floor. “What do you think I’m doing with a dead body? Carrying him around for the fun of it?” I asked crossing my arms across my chest. “I killed him” I shrugged as I walked over to the mini bar to pour myself a drink, the dead guy can wait a little bit longer before he gets buried in the middle of the woods. “So, now on to my question, what happened in Richmond?” I asked bringing the glass of whiskey to my lips. “We had to leave before he could tell us anything” Damon shrugged. “Why?” I asked confused. “Someone smashed the windows that had been done especially so the sun wouldn’t burn vampires. Rose doesn’t own a daylight ring so…” Damon trailed off, before looking over at the dead guy. “Why did you kill someone? You do remember we’re living in Mystic Falls?” Damon asked raising his eyebrows. “Butt out Damon, my business is my business” I snapped before walking down to the basement to grab a shovel before heading back up to grab the dead dude and made my way out to the woods to bury him. Once I’d finished covering my tracks I went back to the boarding house to get in a shower to get rid of all the dirt, I felt horrible and dirty, I’ve had a dead body over my shoulder and I’ve had to dig up a hole in the woods. Finishing up with my shower I changed into some sweats before I realized I should be packing all my stuff up ready to leave in the morning, I wasn’t traveling tonight I was too lazy and I wanted to relax tonight, I could spend the rest of the night figuring out where I could go after going to Milan for a little bit. Just as I was about to start packing there was a knock on my door. “Lilly?” I sighed hearing Damon’s voice. “Come in” I groaned as I laid down on my bed ready to listen to whatever he has to say. “Can we talk?” He asked walking into my room. “Go ahead” I mumbled as he walked over to the couch I had in the corner of my room. “Look, what you said this morning got me thinking, you’ve tried with us both since you’ve been back here and we just pushed you away, and I’m sorry” I chuckled shaking my head. “Sorry, really, sorry? Sorry isn’t going to change the fact that you left me there, saving your precious Elena, who may I remind you is our little brothers girlfriend, not yours” I glared at him. “I had no reason to leave you there, you’re my twin, my double. I’m sorry for the way I’ve treated you, I should’ve stuck by you no matter what” He apologized making me shake my head. “No matter what you say now, it isn’t going to change the fact that I hate you, you’ve ruined me” I stated making him sigh as he stood up walking over to my door. “For what it’s worth, I really am sorry” He apologized before he finally left closing the door behind him. I groaned as I stood up ready to start packing, I needed to leave in the morning I wasn’t staying here any longer. I walked into my closet going into the draw that held all my personal stuff in it, pulling out a photo album I had from my human life. It wasn’t full but it was the one thing I held onto, it held the good memories I had from back then, when me and my brothers actually got on. I sat on the floor before flicking through the photos that was in it, the first one being the day me and Damon was born, we were laid next to eachother holding hands, back then our bond was so strong we did everything together, we helped eachother with everything. As I carried on going through the photos tears started to fall down my cheeks as I remembered how close the 3 of us used to be, we were a real family, normal. Out of anger I threw the book across the room letting out a scream. How could they just push me aside when my magic came in? Why did they hate me?! Once I calmed down a bit I looked over to the photo album noticing a picture had fell out along the way, a picture that stood out to me. With a shaky breath I pushed myself up off the floor before walking over to it, slowly picking it up off the floor like it was the most precious thing in the world. “Oh god” I whispered slapping my hand over my mouth as I looked as the picture of a baby, tears violently leaving my eyes. Just turn it off Lilly, make the pain go away. I shook my head truing to get rid of the little voice in the back of my head. Turn it off, you have nobody, turn it off. I covered my ears with my hands to try and block the voice out but it wasn’t working. You have nobody, turn it off! I clenched my eyes shut taking deep breaths trying to calm myself down. Turn it off, you’ll feel no pain, no more loneliness. Every bad memory I had flashed in front of my eyes like I was watching a movie of my life. Turn it off! I snapped my eyes open looking back at the picture before clenching my eyes shut once again. Turn it off! Turn it off! Turn it off! I snapped my eyes open feeling my body relax, feeling amazing. I looked around the room noticing the mess, I shrugged before looking down at the picture I still held in my hand throwing it onto the floor. “Lilly?” I snapped my head over to the door hearing Stefans voice. I groaned before walking over and pulling it open, once his eyes landed on me he stared at me confused and a little wary. “What?” I asked impatient I wanted to do something fun, like find a good little minion who could be my walking bloodbag. “What have you done?” He whispered staring at me making me laugh. “Please Stefan, don’t give me a lecture, you’ll ruin my buzz” I pouted before smirking. “Goodnight Stefan. Tell Elena that I might see her tomorrow” I laughed at the worry on his face as I walked passed him slamming my door behind me. Time to go out for some fun, why didn’t I do this sooner?
