Chapter 10; Biological mother

Lilly Since the night we opened the tomb not much has happened really, it's just been a depressing week. Sheila died at home after opening the tomb resulting into Bonnie leaving town for a while, and I'm guessing she blames us 3 Salvatore's. Damon's been dealing with everything the best way he deals with everything, partying with a bunch of sorority girls using them for their blood before he compelled them all to leave and not remember a thing. I wasn't too worried about him because I knew he'd calm down soon enough plus it was fun when I had a drink from a couple of them. "Can we talk?" I looked up from the book I was currently reading, well not a book, more like one of my grimoires that I manged to keep over the years. "Go ahead" I sighed closing the book as I walked into my closet hiding the grimoire in one of the drawers and locking it back up. Don't want anyone getting their grubby hands on it, they're my spells nobody else's. "There was a woman you might have known a few years back, named Isobel from North Carolina, Duke" I raised my eyebrows. "I don't know, North Carolina is a big state, I'm not gonna remember everyone I saw" "You killed her" He stated strongly making me chuckle. "That doesn't narrow it down any, I've killed a lot of people, and I don't really ask for their names, unlike you" I smirked at him before staring at him raising my eyebrows. "Why are you even asking?" "I just want to know if you knew anything about her" He answered vaguely making me roll my eyes knowing he was hiding something. "I don't, so if that's all, don't let the door hit you on the way out" I smiled sarcastically at him before walking into my closet grabbing myself a jacket and checking myself in the mirror making sure I looked decent enough to leave the house. I decided to drink my day away in the grill since there's nothing better to do in this town, I was planning on leaving now I know that the whole tomb things over but since Stefan's upto something I was gonna stay and wait to find out what it was. After sitting at the bar for a while on my own drinking Damon came and joined me. "Thought I'd find you here" I rolled my eyes as I poured myself another drink of the whiskey. "Here I am" "What are you still doing in town? Thought you would have left by now" He grumbled making me chuckle "Yeah, well I'm having too much fun" I shrugged before finally taking notice of the person sat a couple of seat away from me on the other side of Damon. He's the high school's new history teacher who was asking me a lot of questions the night we kill the vamp at the schools 50's decade dance. "Behold the teacher, don't you have some papers to grade?" Damon asked him. "It's, uh, more fun with a buzz" Alaric Saltzman told him after downing his drink. "Everything's much more fun with a buzz, sobers depressing" I grumbled pouring myself another drink. "You don't seem like the type of person who gets depressed" Alaric stated looking over at me. "You say that like you know her" Damon spoke looking over at Alaric raising his eyebrows. "Nope. It's just a hunch" Alaric shrugged his shoulders, and I could feel his eyes on me making me turn my head towards him. "You both have a good afternoon" Alaric told us after drinking the rest of his drink before walking off. "Cause' that wasn't weird" Damon mumbled pouring himself a drink with my bottle of whiskey. "There's something fishy about him and I intend to find out what it is" I told him as I looked around the grill, my eyes landing on Liz who came walking over to us. Just the person I needed. "Daytime drinking, huh?" She asked looking at us both. "It's all the rage" Damon told her before having a drink. "Listen, I need a favour, Damon" She looked over at said man. "You ever been in love?" Damon asked her completely ignoring the fact that Liz needed him for something. "Excuse me?" She asked confused looking over at me but I just gave her a shrug as I had a mouthful of my drink. What was I supposed to say? 'Oh, don't worry about him sheriff he's just spent 145 years waiting to rekindle with the woman he loves, only to find out she never cared about him'. I don't think that'll go down too well. "Have you ever been so bent on someone, just to have your heart ripped out by them?" Damon asked her again. "You forget I was married, Damon" Liz pointed out giving him a smirk. "Right, gay husband" I chuckled before flagging the barman down. "We'll have another glass" I smirked at the barman. "Sit down" Damon patted the seat Alaric had just vacated. Liz flicked her eyes over to me, then the bartender before finally taking a seat. "There's a fundraiser here tonight that the founder's council is throwing. The town's most eligible bachelors get raffled off for dates, and, well, we're short a bachelor" She explained giving Damon a pleading look. "Is this what you do when there's no, um, other problems? Organize bachelor raffles?" I asked looking over at her earning a small laugh from her. "Oh, trust me, at this point, I miss the vampires" I smirked at her, well I could make a few problems if that's what they wanted. "Look, Damon, you're a hero to this town. I know most people don't know it, but you are, and you're single and a catch" Damon shook his head. "Oh come on, help me out. Carol Lockwood won't let me live it down if I come up empty handed" Liz begged making me chuckle looking over at Damon. "It's right up your street Damon. A room full of women clamouring to win a date with you" Damon looked at me smirking. "It sounds tasty" He looked back at Liz nodding his head. "You can count me in" Liz laughed before thanking him before going to leave. "Before you go, can you get some information on someone for me? Alaric Saltzman, the new history teacher. There's just something off about him, and I just, I just wanna make sure that the high school did their homework on this guy" I told her making her give me a small smile. "You got it" "What was that about?" Damon asked when she left. "I wanna know who he is" I told him before pouring myself another drink. We stayed at the grill for a couple more drinks before we headed back to the boarding house so Damon could get changed and I wanted a couple of bloodbags before the auction tonight. So while I waited for Damon I laid on my bed drinking a bloodbag ignoring the world around me until Damon barged into my room. "Let's go" I sighed as I climbed off my bed and followed him downstairs where Stefan was waiting for me. "Can we talk a minute Lilly?" He asked as raising his eyebrows. "What can I do for you now?" I asked raising my eyebrows. He pulled out a picture from his jacket pocket before handing it over to me. "This is the woman from North Carolina. You remember her now?" I looked down at the picture looking at a woman, and I could have laughed, I remember her well, when someone basically begs you to kill them they kind of stick with you. "Who wants to know?" I asked looking back at Stefan passing him the picture back. "I do" I raised my eyebrows knowing that it was bullshit. "Who else wants to know?" I asked again. "Did you kill her?" He asked ignoring my question. "No, I didn't. Come on Damon, let's go get you a date for the night" I walked out with Damon before we rushed off to the grill. As soon as walked in I headed off to the bar getting myself a glass of wine while Damon got himself a glass of whiskey and headed off to mingle. I looked around the bar with my glass in my hand as my eyes landed on Liz who just walked through the door holding up a manila folder. I smirked as I walked over to where she was stood in a hidden corner. "Is this what I think it is?" I asked and she nodded passing me the folder. "How does he check out?" I asked looking at her. She nodded. "A couple of speeding tickets. It's a rough story though" She started as I started looking through the file. "Turns out his wife went missing a few years back in North Carolina" I snapped my head up to look at her. "North Carolina?" I asked raising my eyebrows having heard that place a lot today. "She have a name?" I asked looking back at the file. "Yeah, Isobel" She told me flicking through the file showing me the picture of Isobel Fleming's driver's licence, and what do you know it's the same Isobel, Stefan's been asking me about. I closed the file before passing it back to Liz and looking over to Alaric who was talking to a couple of women. "Thank you Liz" I thanked her before walking off only to bump into Damon. "Well, who is she?" He asked smirking at me. "I don't know what you're going on about" I went to walk around him but he stepped in front of me. "You're lying" He laughed making me roll my eyes before I explained to him how I knew Isobel Fleming. "She was delicious" I chuckled before walking back over to the bar getting ready for the raffle auction. I was gonna have fun with this, I had a funny feeling that the only reason he was here was to get revenge for his wife. Oh the shock he'll have when I tell him. "Number 4, Alaric Saltzman. Wow, that's quite a mouthful" Carol Lockwood laughed. "What do you do, Alaric?" She asked holding the microphone to his mouth. "I'm a teacher at Mystic Falls High" He answered. "Beauty and brains, ladies. This one's a keeper" Carol spoke looking at the crowd. "What do you teach?" Carol asked him. "History" He answered shortly. "Oh, well give us a fun fact about Mystic Falls, something crazy" Carol told him as he stared at me making me smirk and wiggle my fingers at him. "Uh, well..." He trailed off making me chuckle, I guess seeing the woman who killed your wife can make you go into a state of shock. "He's probably saving the best stories for his dare" Carol spoke into the microphone before moving onto Damon. "And last, but not least, Damon Salvatore. We don't have much on you" Carol spoke into the microphone. "Well, I'm tough to fit on a card" Damon told her. "Do you have any hobbies? Do you like to travel" She asked and Damon looked over at me smirking. "Oh, yeah. L.A, New York... A couple of years ago my sister and I went to North Carolina, near the Duke campus actually" I gritted my teeth knowing he was basically telling Ric that I killed his wife. What a d**k! "I think, I think Alaric went to school there, didn't you Ric?" Damon asked making Alaric look at him. "Yeah in fact I know your wife did, my sister had a drink with her once, Lilly seemed to like her, she said she was fun" I'm gonna kill him! I turned back to the bar downing my drink before walking off to find Damon to give him a mouthful, only I was stopped by Elena as I bumped into her. "Woah, watch where you're going darlin'" I smirked at her. "It was you wasn't it?" Elena glared at me. "You'll have to be a bit more specific" I told her raising my eyebrows. "You killed Alaric's wife" She snapped making me roll my eyes. "It was a long time ago Elena, drop it already" I told her before walking off. "I was starting to believe that you're not as bad as you put on to be" I stood in my tracks turning to look at her to see Damon and Stefan stood behind her. "Elena, don't" Stefan warned worried that I'd snap his precious girlfriends neck. Hmm, not a bad idea actually. "Don't even think for a second that I have good in me Elena. This is me, deal with it. Yes, I killed Alaric's wife, so what? He'll get over it, he's young, he'll marry again" I shrugged not knowing what the big problem was. "Alaric's wife was my birth mother!" Elena snapped glaring at me making me stare at her completely forgetting that she found out that she was adopted. "Go ahead, reminisce about how you killed her" She snapped before walking past me with tears in her eyes and shoulder bumping me like a little school girl. I grabbed her wrist as she walked by my stopping her as I pulled her towards me. "I don't like you Elena, you mean nothing to me, so don't think for a second that I won't snap your scrawny little neck. You.mean.nothing.to.me" I told her before letting go of her wrist letting her storm off like a little child. Of course Stefan followed her like a lost sheep, sending me a glare making me chuckle to myself. I don't even see why Elena's bothered the woman gave her up and she never even met her. I looked over at Damon rolling my eyes. "You just had to go and ruin my fun, didn't you? I'll see you at home" I told him before going back to the boarding house. I was bored at the grill, and if I stayed any longer I would have ended up eating some of the town folks, and I don't fancy having the council chasing me down with a stake. As soon as I walked into the boarding house I made a beeline into the parlour pouring myself a glass of whiskey. Just as I finished pouring the drink I felt another presence in the house, specifically behind me, and his heartbeat gave him away straight away. I was expecting him to be honest, revenge and all that malarkey. "Are you really that stupid?" I asked before downing my drink pouring myself another one before finally turning to look at him, smirking as my eyes landed on the stake in his hand. I rushed over and threw him across the room, making him land on the floor with a thud, but like a persistent human that he is, he stood back up getting ready to attack me. Gotta give him points for his braveness. "Put the stake down mate, we both know you're not gonna be able to kill me. Human" I pointed at him before pointing back at myself. "Vampire. Let's face it, the chances of you killing me are pretty slim" He didn't say anything, in fact he didn't move, he just stood with the stake still in his hand. "Wow, that's courage" I chuckled as I slowly walked over to him. "Where's Isobel? What have you done with my wife?" He snapped making me smirk raising my eyebrows. "Do you want me to you that I killed her? Would that make you happy? Because I think you know what happened" I chuckled. "I saw you feeding on her" He stated making me shrug. "I did and she was delicious" I told him and I got the reaction I wanted, he ran over to me but I b***h slapped him as he got close enough, sending him flying across the room, once again. I walked over to him bending down to be level with him running my index finger down his neck. "Come on, what do you think happened? Think about it, Rico. Are you telling me you've never considered the possibility?" I taunted smirking down at him before standing back up and walking over to little mini bar we had. "I turned her" I stated as I poured myself another drink. "Why?" He asked from the floor, sounding confused. "She came to me, all pathetic looking for vampires, and I liked her she had sass" I told him holding my glass to my lips before having a drink. "You turned her because she had sass?" He asked sounding disgusted by the thought. "No, I liked her because she had sass, I turned her because she begged me to" I chuckled smirking at him. "Yep, she begged me to turn her, but something tells me you knew that too, didn't you? Hmm, I'm guessing she wasn't happy at home, or with her life. Wasn't happy with you" He went to attack me again but I grabbed the stake out of his hand, shoving it into his stomach puncturing his lung making him yell out in pain, bring a smile to my face. I pulled the stake out throwing it on the floor as Alaric dropped down next to it. "Sounds like I got a lung, which means I get to sit here and watch you die" I smirked as I sat down on one of the seats with my drink in my hand. I watched as he brought his hand upto the wound I left him with gasping for air until he took his last breath. I stared at the dead body before standing up and pouring myself another drink. "There goes another history teacher" I looked over my shoulder to see Damon walk in. "What can I say? I have a thing for killing history teachers" I chuckled shrugging my shoulders just as Steffie walked into the room. "Here we go" I mumbled as he rushed over to Alaric checking his pulse. "What happened? What did you do?" Steffie snapped glaring at me. "Before you give me a lecture, you should know that he attacked me first. I told him the truth, his wife didn't want him anymore. It's not my fault he didn't like the truth" I shrugged going to walk out of the room. "You just love screwing with people's lives, don't you Lilly" Stefan snapped stopping me in my tracks. "FYI, I turned Isobel because she came to me. She found me, begging me to turn her, to give her eternal life" I told him before turning and continuing with my walk upto my room. "I'm sure you can take care of this"
