Amerada moved stealthily in the forest, she was in her werewolf form, and was tracking down a bear she scented some minutes ago.
She was hunting the bear alone because she wanted to be take some time away from her pack. She has begun hunting solo for some weeks now, and has been doing it more often than she realized, that's because she uses hunting to distract herself from her problems and worries which are waiting for her back home. Her problems started when her pack's alpha decided to make her his mate, and she refused because he wasn't her true soul mate and moreover he have five mates already.
She thought that as she refused to accept him that he will quit and let her be, but instead her refusal seems to spur him on the more. He isn't the kind to take no for an answer. He was drawn to Amerada's beauty, and desired to make her his mate, and won't stop coming after her until she accept. He had started by asking her nicely, but when he saw that she was not ready to accept, he started becoming demanding. Though he haven't done anything to harm her or her family in anyway yet, but he has been giving them some problems which Amerada's whole family blames her for, like as if it's her fault. And they all keep pressuring Amerada to give in to him, without caring for her desire to find her true mate. There are even ladies in the pack who are jealous that Amerada managed to grab the alpha's attention, and they haven't been shy to show it. Amerada seriously wondered what those ladies problems were. She have hoped against hope that her alpha will focus on other ladies and leave her alone. But alas!, not only doesn't he leave her, but he have started getting forceful in his quest to make her his mate.
'I seriously wish that my mate will find me. Hopefully his appearance will put an end to my problems' Amerada thought.
Suddenly Amerada paused as she realized two things. The first being that the bears scent has gotten stronger, which means that the beast is not very far away. And the second being that she was already approaching the end of her packs territory, which means that the bears scent leads straight into the territory of a rival pack, that's in enmity with her own pack.
'Should she continue ?' or 'should she forgo the bear ?'. Amerada gave it a thought for a while before deciding on doing the former. If she forgo the bear she will have to hunt for some other game, but she haven't seen any interesting game ever since she came out to hunt that evening. Which will lead to her going back home early, to deal with whatever is waiting for her there.
By now she have already reached the border demarcating 'The Canines' (her pack) territory, and 'The Claws' (the rival pack) territory. She hesitated for a while before gathering some courage, 'I will just track down the bear, kill it, carry it's carcass and quickly leave the Claws territory', she thought and then crossing the border she stepped into the enemy's territory.

Raizen Cage the alpha of 'The Claws' pack stealthily moved in the forest, with 23 members of his pack following behind him. They were currently in their human form, and were tracking down a bear, whose smell Raizen perceived few minutes ago when training some of the young wolves in his pack. Five of the members behind him are adults like him. They are also strong beta wolves, while the remaining 18 are the young wolves he is training with the help of the five betas.
When Raizen perceived the bear's scent, he had decided to give the young werewolves a test by ordering them to capture the bear alive without giving it a single injury.
Three of the beta wolves following behind him are males, while the remaining two are females. One of the female beta was moving very close to Raizen. Her name is El-sha.
As they were moving to the bear's location, Raizen found his mind reliving memories that he desperately keep on trying not to think about, but still end up doing so every single day. Those memories bring back emotions that he can't just seem to bury. Emotions of pain, sorrow, anger, and regrets. He can still hear her laugh, see her smile, smell her scent, and feel her touch, which he wish that he can feel again. He can't just believe that she's gone....dead.... buried, and he wasn't there to help her.
He sniffed as a single tear rolled down his left eye, which he quickly wiped before any of his subordinate will see it. As an alpha he believes that he shouldn't show signs of weakness in front of his pack members, especially by being emotional. So he continued his stride with a stoic expression, while his battered heart wept.
He remembered the day she died, it's a day he will never forget. A day he lost a part of himself..........a day he lost his soul mate. November 25, 1899. Paranormal hunters had attacked his pack when it was still growing. They had attacked in multitude, and he had led most of the werewolves under him to the war front leaving his mate....his Luna and a few other strong beta werewolves to guide the still young pack members. He never knew that the hunters had tricked him to the war front so that they can attack his now vulnerable mate, and young pack members through the back. By the time he realized it and rushed back it was already too late. His mate was dead, as well as a most of the betas he left behind, but the youngsters where alright. His mate and the betas had died protecting the youngsters.
The five betas watched their alpha with pity and understanding. They saw his tear before he wiped it, and knew that he must still be grieving about his dead mate even though he tries to hide it. He had spent more than a century coping with her death by throwing himself into every work he could find, no matter if it was beneath him.
Surprisingly he hadn't tried to take another mate even though he could. After his mate's death he had shut himself off from everyone emotionally. He only started opening himself up again, due to the intervention and consistent support of a female werewolf known as El-sha. She had somehow worked her way into his life when he shut everyone off. And she had supported him emotional, and made him see reasons to not shut himself away from his pack members. But her help was not selfless as per to say. She only became close to Raizen because she wanted to become the Luna, now that his mate is dead. Even though Raizen warmed up to El-sha more than anyone else, he haven't shown any interest in taking her as his mate. At least not yet. But everyone wolf in his pack knows that when he finally decides to take another mate, El-sha will most likely be the one that he will choose.
El-sha was getting impatient with Raizen's delay in claiming her as his mate. She hungered for the Luna's position as it will make her the second most powerful and respected werewolf in the Claws pack. Next only to the alpha.

"Hmmm why do I get this distinctive cold feeling that something bad is about to happen to me ?....", Amerada thought. She have been following the smell of the bear for some time now, and the smell have led her deep into the Claws pack. Deeper than she thought she would go.
She knew that she was walking on thin ice, because the deeper she moves into the Claws territory, the higher the chances are that she will be discovered. She doesn't even want to think of what they will do to her if she was found.
"I think that it's high time that I turn back.....", She reasoned and made to return back to her packs territory, when suddenly............
"Rrrrrrooooaar".
She heard a loud roar, which came from the direction where she was tracking the bear to.
"That must be the bear, and it seems like it's not very far away. So should I turn back and leave now, or should I still hunt this bear", Amerada contemplated.
Less than a minute later, she looked at the direction of the bear's roar with a face filled with resolve, as she came to a decision.
"It's not sense that I will turn back now after coming so far. And moreover the bear is not very far away. So I will just hunt it and then quickly make my way out of the claws territory. I haven't been discovered yet, and hopefully it will remain that way".
Then without wasting any more time, she darted deeper into the Claws territory.
But unknown to Amerada, she was not the only one hunting the bear. A group of four werewolves were also hunting it, and they happened to pick up her scent from miles away. They were currently converging towards her location.
