THE WRONG CLASS
.ACCIDENTAL LOVE Episode 1 — The Wrong Classroom Amara Williams had promised herself that nothing would distract her from university. Not parties. Not unnecessary drama. And definitely not boys. She had come to university with one goal: study hard, graduate with excellent grades, and build a better life for her family. Her mother had sacrificed too much for her to waste the opportunity. Unfortunately, on her second week of school, Amara was already running late. “Please, God, let me not be late,” she whispered as she hurried across campus. Her backpack bounced against her shoulder while she held her notebook and phone in one hand. She checked her timetable. Biology 101 — Hall B12. She looked ahead and spotted a classroom. Without checking the number properly, she pushed the door open. “Sorry I'm late, sir!” The entire room went silent. Everyone stared at her. Amara slowly looked toward the board. Her heart dropped. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT 101. She had entered the wrong classroom. A few students laughed. The lecturer adjusted his glasses. “Miss, are you looking for Biology?” Amara swallowed. “Yes, sir.” “This is Business Management.” “I know that now.” The class laughed again. Amara covered her embarrassment with a nervous smile. “Sorry, sir.” She quickly stepped outside and closed the door behind her. “Oh my goodness,” she whispered. She checked her phone again. Hall B12 was actually two buildings away. She hurried down the hallway. Then— BANG! She crashed into someone. Her books fell to the floor. “Oh! I'm so sorry!” Amara immediately bent down to pick them up. Another person reached for the same notebook. Their hands touched. She looked up. A tall young man was staring at her. He wore a black hoodie, dark jeans, and an expensive-looking watch. His expression was calm, but there was a slight smile on his face. “You should watch where you're going,” he said. Amara frowned. “Excuse me?” “You almost knocked me over.” “You were standing in the middle of the hallway.” He raised an eyebrow. “So it's my fault?” “Yes.” He laughed. Amara stared at him. “What?” “Nothing. You're just very confident.” “I'm not trying to be.” She grabbed her notebook. Then she noticed something. Her water bottle had fallen too. Water was dripping onto the man's shirt. His smile disappeared. He looked down. Then back at her. “You spilled water on me.” Amara's eyes widened. “Oh no. I'm sorry.” “This shirt is new.” “I didn't do it intentionally.” “I know.” “Then why are you looking at me like that?” He shook his head. “Because you seem completely calm about destroying my shirt.” Amara folded her arms. “I apologized.” He looked at her for a moment. Then he smiled. “You're interesting.” “I don't think that's a compliment.” “It is.” Amara picked up her remaining books. “I have class.” “Wait.” She turned. “What?” “You haven't told me your name.” “Why do you need my name?” “Because you just ruined my shirt.” She sighed. “Amara.” “Amara what?” “Williams.” He smiled. “Daniel.” “Okay, Daniel.” She turned around. “See you around.” Amara stopped walking. She looked back at him. “Hopefully not.” Daniel laughed. “Something tells me you will.” Amara shook her head and continued walking. She finally found Hall B12 and slipped inside just before the lecturer began. But she couldn't stop thinking about the strange guy she'd just met. Daniel. She didn't know his last name. She didn't know where he lived. She didn't know why he seemed so confident. And she certainly didn't know that their paths were about to cross again. Across campus, Daniel watched Amara disappear into the crowd. His friend Ryan walked up beside him. “Who was that?” Daniel looked toward the direction she had gone. “I don't know.” Ryan laughed. “You don't know her, but you're smiling?” Daniel looked at him. “I'm not smiling.” “You definitely are.” Daniel shook his head. “Forget it.” But he couldn't. Neither could Amara. Neither of them knew it yet, but their accidental meeting was only the beginning. Sometimes, love doesn't arrive with flowers or a romantic first meeting. Sometimes, it arrives unexpectedly. Sometimes, it begins with an accident. And this was theirs. To be continued…
