Sweet Starry Shadows
Chapter 30: Just How?
Erza stepping in where she raised both her hands in between the snarling Dragon Slayers and a hissing Lisanna who was standing in front of a territorial Natsu, she bit the inside of her cheeks as she noticed Sakura's eyes threateningly changing back and forth in colour. Knowing what her eyes were signalling, she turned her head to look at her nakama and shook it. "She's beyond your control you two... You know that she's as strong as Laxus and I..." she said where Lisanna balled her fists and then accusingly pointed to the crimson. "She was supposed to join our guild and win the Grand Magic Games! She just can't just decide to leave suddenly without telling any of us! What makes me angry is, she decided to join some lousy wannabe guild that can't match up with us in any way since their old master knew nothing but power and greed! They're heartless mages and she decided to join them for that blonde b***h over there?!" Lisanna yelled where everyone gasped and looked at Mirajane's little sister in horror.
Lucy opening her mouth in shock as she took a step back, she looked up to Rogue who was gritting his teeth in anger. Her head turning to look at Sakura, she widened her eyes when Sakura looked lethal and was in a stance that was ready to strike at any moment. Slowly, she then faced Lisanna - Was the girl like this before? Just what was going through her mind to make her throw these accusations at another?
"Listen here... You don't know what happens within the insides of Sabertooth nor do you have any right to talk such crap about my family as if you own the place. Sabertooth is beyond what you see in that pea-sized brain of yours. They don't go throwing random accusations at people that they think are a threat in their lives, nor do they follow and believe such nonsense. If you think you're so perfect and know everything... Why won't you become an S-Class mage first and run the guild to experience first-hand. Throw everyone you think are unworthy out and spread some crap to ruin people's lives. I'm not here to teach a pathetic child how to behave like her actual age..." Sakura began where Sabertooth walked up to stand behind her with leering eyes. "... We're here for Master Makarov, and we're not taking no as an answer," Sting finished off.
Lucy standing tall, feeling proud to be a Sabertooth wizard, she glared at Lisanna. "If you don't want me here, fine by me because I have a much better family. What Sakura chooses to do is her choice, don't go commanding her to do stuff for your own benefit," she said where Sting, Rogue and Sakura looked at her with pride.
Their heads nodding, they turned back to the guild in front of them with their heads held high. "As the Master of Sabertooth, I call for Master Makarov's presence here," Sting announced where Erza sighed and nodded her head. "I'll bring you to his office," she said where Lucy looked at Sakura with bright eyes.
Sakura smiling, she nodded her head and soon they began to head upstairs amongst the murmurs of Fairy Tail. Lucy walking up, she gritted her teeth as she picked up a certain insult coming out of Lisanna's mouth, she snapped out of it when she felt someone place their hand on her right shoulder which made her look over.
Behind her stood Rogue with a faint smile of support. "Don't let their words get to you. It's their loss, not yours," he whispered where she felt her heart lightening up. With a smile in return, she nodded her head. "Thanks, Rogue," she whispered, not knowing the jealous look given by a certain wizard below on the main floor. His eyes narrowing on the Shadow Dragon Slayer, he ripped his gaze away from the boy and looked at his partner giving out insults like a tap flowing out gallons of water. Not knowing how he weighed his emotions between the two, he found himself agitated at the girl standing beside him.
Sakura glancing down to watch Natsu's actions as he looked away from the two behind her with his fists balled up. She shook her head as she looked over to Laxus with worried eyes. "Are you going to take over the guild?" she asked where he gruffed and ran his fingers through his hair. "The guild's been messed up since Lucy left and I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to deal with their bullshit. No, I'm not going to take over gramps... We were both sure that you were going to take over but now since you left, it's been decided on Erza," Laxus stated where the crimson nodded her head before entering Makarov's office.
Rogue allowing Lucy to take the seat in front of Makarov's desk, he settled himself to rest against the chair that Lucy was sitting in as Chaverine decided to rest against the bookshelf. Sting leaning against the other side with the wizard in the ropes on the floor, he crossed his arms and closed his eyes as he patiently waited for the old man to return from his meeting. The last of two settling themselves at Makarov's desk, Sakura sat in his seat with Laxus standing behind her looking all stern and angry like always.
As they all sat there quietly, Erza excused herself where moments time, Gray came walking in with Wendy trailing in with a frown on her face. Their eyes meeting with Sakura's wary ones, they forced themselves to smile as they entered the room.
Feet shuffling against the carpet as they closed the door, they soon found themselves gaining everyone's attention including the wizard that's soon about to be arrested by the Magic Council. "What's going on with the guild?" Gray asked as he walked up to stand behind Lucy only to be glared to by Rogue resting beside her.
Sakura entwining her fingers together, she rested her chin on top of them in amusement and stared at him. "What do you mean by that?" she asked where he gritted his teeth.
In confusion, Lucy looked back and forth in question. What did Gray mean by that? Was there something she didn't know?
"The whole Natsu dating Lisanna out of nowhere is what I mean… The whole issue about Lucy bullying Lisanna and the guild blindly following. They're never like this until Natsu and Lisanna suddenly dated, and they're not the same as before," Gray stated where Lucy furrowed her brows and turned to look at Sakura who was frowning at the given information.
The crimson giving out a sigh, she shrugged her shoulders before narrowing her eyes on the raven. Her lips tightened into a straight line which made Lucy have a gut feeling of something bad was going to be delivered, her hunch was right when the girl opened her mouth to properly speak with the Ice-Make wizard. "Manipulation... That's all I can say right now as the situation is still dangerous and all over the place. I'm sorry Gray, but Fairy Tail may be at its breaking point," she said where he then looked at her in horror but yet in shock.
His feet apart as he shook his head in denial, he couldn't force any words out of his mouth. There just couldn't be a chance of that happening, "T-They... But we're..." Sakura shook her head before sadly looking over to Lucy. "Manipulation can only cause them to push Lucy into a corner. We all know that Lucy would never hurt her family and friends but then there's Lisanna claiming it to be the latter," she said where Lucy covered her mouth.
"So, they don't mean what they're saying?" Lucy asked.
Sakura shook her head in reply. "They don't mean a thing, but their minds are weak, hence being easy to get fooled," she elaborated before the doors opened again to reveal the old man. "Ah, Master Makarov… It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, but allow me to keep this short to waste my breath, we have someone to drop off for the Magic Council..."
